still rocking my 1080,in the rarity of monitor's (i have a 30 ultra wide at 2560x1080),loving steve's humour, made me laugh a few times (especially the dig at alienware X),not really seeing the point of 360hz monitor's,when does it reach a point where we are just go oh come on!?,now this is just getting ridiculous .
curious question for those who know about this,is hdmi going to be the main cable to go for in future (currently i'm using a display port cable).

Steve, I really like and appriciate what you go through to have more eco-friendly products. I wish more companies would do that. It always grinds my gears to see everything wrapped in plastic, bagged in plastic, put into a cardboard box (a lot of times even with multi color prints) and so on. For example, I really like the Phanteks approach with the screws in a re-usable plastic container.

When comparing market share for GPUs, Steve makes a mistake by using just a, for example, RX580 number vs the 1060. Thing is- all GP106 die based cards came under the same 1060 name (be it 3gb, 6gb, 5gb, GDDR5 or 5X variants), while Polaris10/20 die based GPUs are under separate names: RX470,480,570 and 580- which have to be bundled together when making a comparison vs 1060.

I love the Steam hardware surveys because it's a good reminder that the enthusiasts are a minority. It's easy to look at forums and comments and believe that everyone feels one way so why won't they just listen?! . Things start to make more sense when we understand that we (the types to watch hardware news) are the loudest, smallest part of the audience.

Strange that no one seems to look into Nvidias Benchmark Video with their 2080ti vs 3080 comparison on Doom Eternal...
They used different Vulcan Versions for the GPUs. And the 2080ti FPS they got are way off what i get with my 2080ti on 4k Max Settings.
Strangely everyone just takes Nvidias Word for Credit. Did no one learn from the past?

To be fair I doubt even 5% of Steam users actually do the survey. It's pretty random that you'll be online when it pops up. So it's not even really a survey representing JUST people who are into GPU's and what not. That's how like every generation is really. People didn't have 15% 970s until like 2 years later once they replaced their 670s-770s.

well yeah rtx cards were extremely overpriced and werent even a real upgrade if you dont care about ray tracing. the 3080 is supposed to be faster than the 2080ti at its msrp is like 600. 20 series cards did not have consumer level price points. 99% of people are not going to be able to afford a 1000 dollar gpu.

I am gonna switch to liquid cooling and I am thinking about the arctic freezer II 280mm.. It is 99 euros, compared to other brands that go up to 200 euros.
Does it last as long as other brands? I hear good things about the arctic freezer and but it just seems so cheap

Gonna pull in a Zen3 when it's available, up from my old 4core Intel 4670k. In Jan or Feb if things are stable enough I'll get a 30 series nvidia and a 4k monitor if DLSS 3.0 is available and proven itself. 1440p if no 3.0 out or out soon.
