NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition Review: Gaming, Thermals, Noise, & Power Benchmarks

Our review of the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition video card comes out after the AMD RX 6800, 6800 XT, and NVIDIA RTX 3070 (among others). Gaming benchmarks, noise, power, & more. Our review of the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti GPU is now live, in the form of the RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition. We have cards in from EVGA, ASUS, and other partners, but due to tight timelines for end of year content, we're not sure when or if we'll get to all of them. We have a number of RX 6800 GPUs that we're interested in reviewing first. Either way, today, we need to test the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti. Our benchmarks include some light thermal testing with auto VBIOS settings on the FE card, overclocking, gaming tests for standard graphics, hybrid rendering and ray tracing performance, power consumption testing, and more. We kept this review much simpler than some of our other video card reviews recently, but it still covers just about everything. If you're curious about Smart Access Memory performance on the AMD cards, check out our RX 6800 XT review.

So strange. There wasn't even an announcement from nvidia.
I also find it strange that they started that tier with a Ti card. Why not just release it as a 3060? I guess they can slot another card in as a 3060 underneath in a month or two... but why not just call that a 3050? I don't like the whole Ti, Super naming with the same tier number. It just confuses the issue. The suffix names should be the 1 year refresh parts.
Is there actually going to be product?
My guess it they are just flooding the market before AMD has their mid level part out.
They also probably have a LOT of Samsung 8nm dies that didn't make the cut for the higher chips, but have enough function to qualify for lower rungs.
These will be a lower end part though and not a cut down 102.

After seeing this review along others, I left wondering in what state does the 3060 ti leave the RX 5700 xt? Do you guys at gamers nexus or the community feel the AMD card is being retired and pushed aside, or still has some fight left? This is taking in consideration performance, price, and of course availability. Thank you for the content and the energy put on these informative videos!

These reviews on imaginary cards with imaginary prices are so pointless. I mean, isn't the point of reviews to help/guide people about buying real hardware with real money ?
(I watched the conclusion, I know the current situation wasn't ignored by Steve, but it doesn't make it any useful; interesting to watch, yes, but not what should I do/buy useful)

Nvidia = old intel. Never pay nvidia tax and dont buy their marketing tricks. Nvidia = all about marketing. They bribe gaming companies for using their shitty effects. Thats why they're sponsoring and giving shitload of money. No developer using their shit free because it's not good. Just marketing move. Always Buy AMD! you dont need pay nvidia tax :)

Still very happy with my RX 5700, giving me well over 60FPS (often close
to 100FPS) in my games at 1440p. I see no reason to upgrade until ray
tracing is more mainstream and offering the same level of performance
for around 300.

Technical question: With the reduction in cores etc... would the 3060 Ti mean that they can release more cards for the same about of silicon compared to the 3070 and 3080. I'm wondering if this rapid turn over is a response to demand.

Definitely an upgrade over my 2060 and my wifes 970. So when I can get one she gets a great upgrade to 2060 shes still 1080p and I'll get the 3060ti im on 1440p. Would be a great Christmas present but that is definitely a no go. Lol

I'm an and fan boy, but man I sure am glad I put 5600xt in my new build the 3060ti destroy the 5700xt and both are the same price but one is readily available. Can't wait to pick up one of these or 6700 once available next year

Thanks for all the reviews. Lots of work! Too bad it is just a waste of time since NVIDIA just ships GPUs to miners and not customers. It is not like people are stuck at home and would like to play games.. screw NVIDIA
reply

ironically a significant section of people who are complaining about price scalping are the people who are planning to upgrading just because the cards are the latest ones and not that they need it badly.
