Personally, I ve never understood vibration dampening. Hard drives produce vibration obviously, and the kinetic energy needs to go somewhere. If you were to attach rope to each screw hole of a 3.5 drive, that energy isn t being transferred to the rope effectively and the drive now has to deal with all the vibration. Wouldn t it be much better to use actual metal screws to mount a drive/fan to the case so that the case can absorb that energy? I m led to believe that rubber doesn t transfer mechanical energy well, it simply isolates it. I d love to see a test on this, because I don t know if I ve been led astray with bad info each time I question why you call anti-vibration a good thing, because to me that instead translates to anti-energy medium . my big thing is availability, cases come and go, sometimes quickly if demand is well above expectation, so if a company makes a similar case to another, as long it's not trash and can somewhat compete with the original, it may serve as a plan B for those who want a case that is no longer available. Of course, we don't want every brand making the same cases over and over, innovation is important, and you never know if these SLIGHT variations may just be better for a certain person who likes certain styles. Innovation is great, but you don't wait for it any more than you force it in my opinion. It's not like any one case is the god of all cases, and other companies are trying to copy it exactly, the industry needs variety and competition like any other.

To answer the question : I would instantly and without an after thought buy even an exact replica of a case if it's relatively cheaper than the original. I do not care for logos and brand loyalty, only for my wallet. If X brand decides to overcharge people because of its name, I have no qualms about getting my stuff elsewhere.
It's not like PC cases are the peak of innovation, I feel like 99% of them are the same stuff with a side glass panel, a psu shroud and the same boring layout with different levels of quality in fans anyway. Some have useless gimmicks, others have some actual useful stuff, but ultimately it feels like there's a hundred different options from the major brands that are exactly the same shit.

If there was anything truly unique about the case being copied, like Lian Li's cases, then I don't think it's good that they can be copied but since the only functional differences between the majority of cases is size and mounts, with some minor convenience like wire ties or potentially a fan hub.
I do wish that they'd copy some of the older classic cases tho. A modern HAF X/932 would be absolutely amazing right about now, since most cases dislike side panel fans.
Basically if it's defunct or uninspired in itself, you can't complain if someone copies it is my take. Same as games and software that's no longer sold should be considered freeware if it's been off the shelf for more than a year.

Given your commentary on the GPU temperatures, maybe it would make sense to monitor and show the GPU clockspeeds together with the temperatures? I could see it help differentiate especially with edge cases like this where the temperatures won't go much higher anyway.
As for the would you buy a copycat case if it does the same for cheaper? question, it really depends on how much money there is to save. In this case, I'd want at least a 20-25 discount over the 'original' rather than the 10 we get to consider it. For 10 more, the Corsair case is definitely the more attractive buy imo.

I m not a fan of knock-off products because most times the manufacturer is inspired by a well made product. However because of their cost saving methods to use cheaper parts (and/or sacrificing the overall quality of their product and tarnishing their company name) I tend to buy the more quality well made product with quality in their name rather than the knock-off. But I can understand if budget minded folks would want to save money with the knock-offs. I think saving up is worth more than settling for less. Great vid GN!

I have no qualms about buying a knockoff product as long as it's as good or better than the original, but if I'm getting worse performance or looks for only 10 less I'd definitely stick to the original product. Generally speaking, I'm willing to splurge a bit on a good case, because I'm going to look at at for years to come and probably use it through several upgrades/buiilds, so saving 50 on a case doesn't seem worth it, considering how much I'm already going to spend on other parts.

It's not that much cheaper that I would consider it. But then, as my wife would attest to, I have a bad habit of obsess over items I purchase. To the point of spending hours watching and reading reviews of things. I want the best for my dollar.
And that is why I'm here. I watch GN for the nonbiased info. Steve & Co. are some of the most trusted folks I know. Now, if they only reviewed sous vide setups, snow blowers, and miter saws, I'd be more comfortable making those choices.

If the performance is good.
If they fixed the issues with the original
all while having a lower price tag, why not. Less money going towards the brand name the better. I do think you should pay for the the cost it took them to research the product. So a price hike at launch but I would like to see the price start to decrease at a 2 year mark where people who want to it now already got it.

The 4000 corsair case was so annoying to build in due to my AIOs that resulted in having to remove a fan from the rad, on changing the MOBO the other fan had to be removed and by pure luck the 2nd fan could be refitted as it now cleared the RAM on the new MOBO.. anyway, this looks slightly larger, but still smaller than 5000 series, all I needed was 10mm! So yes would consider this, even though I generally disapprove of copycat stuff.
