People have reported NZXT downgrading the Seasonic PSU that V1 originally came with to some unknown PSU. NZXT didn't even disclose which PSU the V2 comes with this time (NZXT doesn't have SFX PSUs, it's just a label) and shutting off with 3080 doesn't inspire confidence. It's not even the SFX issue, Corsair's SF750 doesn't do that, for example.
The best alternative for H1 would be SSUPD Meshlicious, slightly smaller, also very small footprint, with similar or better cooling, better HW compatibility (you're not stuck with that AIO) and cheaper when comparing case price alone, without cooler and PSU...

Never buying an NZXT case again. Not because of the fire hazard but because their build quality is apalling garbage.
H510i with sharp edges in the case, front panel screws once unscrewed (carefully) were barely insertable again due to apparently being found from a chinese landfill, USB connector broke after less than 2 weeks of normal usage (USB memory being inserted on a daily basis).
Pile of shit manufacturer. Never again.
Bought a Fractal Design 7 instead which is like from another universe in build quality and usability.

Why are the parts you want to use so big? Could it be because of cooling and adding connectors for them to interface with other devices, and to reduce electronic waste. if someone made a board with CPU/RAM/GPU/storage all built in there wouldn't be the need for large sockets/connectors so the board could be made smaller, and you could have faster performance.
Look at those pocket computers most people carry around and call phones.
When any circuit becomes obsolete then you have to change the whole board.

To add a recommendation to Steve's list of ITX alternatives, take a gander at Silverstone. The SG-14, while large for an ITX case, fits almost anything you want to, including s 3-slot GPU and an ATX PSU. The SG-13 is significantly smaller, comes in a mesh/flow version, but will fit only a 2-slot GPU, a rather short (150mm) PSU, and you will find CPU cooling a challenge unless you use water. The LD03-AF is closer to the NZXT H1 in look and feel, and fits reasonably sized components, but goes SFX (L).

Around this time last year I had an original NZXT H1. I immediately returned it to Amazon after seeing the initial coverage. Thank you Steve & team for bringing the fire issue to light.
I liked the original H1, great layout, excellent design, very noob friendly. Unfortunately NZXT s response to the fire issue has been less than ideal, and I m staying away from them until them until they have a proven track record of being a responsible company, not just when the world is staring at them.

Well the next popular SFX case with LC and PSU and riser preinstalled would be the MAX variant of NR200P, that thing comes with 850W Gold CM PSU and 280mm rad... so maybe it's altogether a better choice despite the price. Surely, it would have made even more sense if CM used the 1kW+ SFX Platinum PSUs instead of the Gold 850W-only one, but we got what we got. Perhaps you could actually test the quality of said cooler and PSU compared to other LCs and SFX(-L) PSUs respectively?

Why did Reset buttons fall out of favor? Since like 1988 I've called it the I win button. I hate having to trip power to force a reboot. I'm a whole grown-ass person. I can take responsibility for what happens if I reset the PC without letting the OS shut down gracefully -- and I'm only ever hitting Reset when the OS has completely failed to shutdown.
Bluescreens still happen, and it's still unnecessary stress on the system to do a hard power drop.

Really needed this, love my h1 v1 and I did get a new riser cable quickly from nzxt but it did get toasty and pretty loud sometimes. The upgraded power supply, fan on the back of the case, additional usb on top, gen 4 riser cable and larger space for upgrades I can t afford made this appealing to me. Price seems steep but glad to see this is heading is a more positive direction than the v1 case, at some point I ll look into picking one up.

The plural of fiasco is NZXT's cases. (Else, fiascae. Maybe.) :) p.s. 120/140mm AIOs categorically outperform towers (while gaming, anyway) because--as I'm certain that you're aware--they can be arranged in intake configuration, whereas the tower cooler will always suck the heat of a GPU into it, raising CPU temperature in kind. (This was especially relevant when SLI was a thing. RIP, SLI.)

After all that crap they have become infamous for with the H1, why the heck would they choose to name the new case H1 again?
They should have at least called it the H2 or something completely different, but then again they have proven they clearly aren't the best at making intelligent decisions and choices so we shouldn't be surprised that they are still calling this the H1 again.
