Walmart's 8 CPU Frame vs. 800 i9-12900KS Cheukchi Frame Review

As a final part of our CPU Contact Frame for Intel 12th Gen coverage, we're testing and reviewing the Walmart CPU frame by putting it on our 800 test CPU - hopefully it goes OK. This CPU contact frame follows our previous reviews of Intel unbending CPU frames, starting with the Thermal Grizzly contact frame and leading to the Thermalright contact frame. Now, we're looking at the Binyou or Cheukchi frame from Walmart and Amazon only. We haven't heard of these companies, but the product is simple enough, so it's cheap enough. At 8 to 14 or so, these frames land between Thermalright (which is a known brand) and Thermal Grizzly (which bills itself as a 'premiere' brand, priced at 35). We're running low on our 3D Drink Coaster Packs! These custom-designed, PC-themed coasters support our in-depth testing work and get you a high-quality, unique product in return! We have no current plans to re-order the current coaster designs, but these will be part of a collectible series. If you've wanted some, get them before they're gone!

For those of us responsible who have adequate tools what should the torque specifications be? I would suggest 0.05Nm or 0.06Nm.
You are quite thorough with respect to most things but still fail to provide the fullest information.
Why do I ask this? People like us who use theses frames are often ones whom ran into problems with the Intel ILM on our custom loop hard tube builds and after installing EK blocks on our video cards have (better than EK provide lol) real torque screwdriver sets. They are expensive, especially when supplied with a COC. Nevertheless they represent a minimal investment with respect to the total builds, even more value over time, value and provides the safety we require.
So in future you could do better. You are already so far out in front of your competition.. continue on that trajectory.

OK ya'll but wasn't this ORIGINALLY designed to stop the 'warping' issue? Since there is a bend going on. I have a 12900KF with a Noctua NH-D15 so my question is - I heard the NH-D15 plate is slightly curved anyway to accommodate. If i fit this - would it really make a big difference? Would you not want a cpu cooler where the plate is totally flat since this device 'flattens' out the way the CPU sits on the motherboard????

I usually like the jokey responses to manufacturer idiocy, but the stuff about counting deficiencies and washers is a bit of a backfire making you guys look like idiots. Extra washers, screws, mounting hardware is actually pretty common and INTENTIONAL for small parts just in case you lost one/some. It's like you've never built computer hardware which often comes with extra screws, standoffs, and yes, even washers. SMH

This tells you something about the sad state that Intel is in as a company. This is an obvious problem that causes the processor to over-heat and throttle, specially on a CPU that runs hot by default. Intel hasn't done a thing to resolve it, and looks like the 13th gen CPU may come with the same heat spreader and retainer! It looks like they spent 5 minutes and 5 designing the whole socket assembly on the 1700 series.

Excluding products with all actual parts, have received more products with Less parts than more parts. Any company that supplies extras should be complemented. Spares are good. Because has anyone ever NOT lost some small part during assembly? Leaving you shopping, spending time and effort, to find those tiny pieces.
On the other hand in my day, new cars came with five tires. Some accounting problem eh?

Can use something like this for the ASUS x570 board and zen 3. i have had 3 heatsinks that really underperform... So it is probably the board trying not to apply the pressure needed. Want to use some washers to apply a bit more force, but dont have the time or energy to trial and error it and it works as is. Im leaving about 5 to 10% performance on the table. Maybe more in high loads

Myself, I don't have an Alder Lake CPU, nor will I be getting one (as I'm on Ryzen 5000) but if I were to, I would buy the Thermal Grizzly frame, hands down. I believe in supporting the original creator(s) of products like this, especially when they strive for quality and manufacturing that isn't in China. Just my opinion though - others may see this differently.

got both frames Thermalright and the one from Thermal grizzly (in case i fail at installing the thermal grizzly one the thermalright one looks easier to install) huge improvement over the stock one i had 6-8 degrees in some cases cpu never goes above 59 degrees under load , dont mind paying a bit more for the thermal grizlly one because all there products are really good

Does the stock AMD have the same problems as Intel? It would be nice to see what a pressure plate plus having the cpu lapped in with the cpu cooler. If it was a 30+ degree difference t hen it'll be time for an upgrade.
Supporting local workers is a good thing. If we buy the cheapest all the time it would be like funneling our money out of our countries.

Couldn't find a thermal grizzly plate but I got a thermalright no problem. It was more like 16 though. Totally worth it. My noctua cooler was having a hard time with my 12700k during certain games and certain tasks. After installing the thermalright contact plate it shaved off 10 to 15c during 4k video processing. It went from high 80s to low 70s. Crazy.

Der8auer's photoframe looks very nice!
My 2 cents, if you buy a Ferrari but don't have the money for fuel to drive it around, then you shouldn't have bought the Ferrari to begin with. I'd side with quality and get the Der8auer photoframe. That makes me wonder, you think there's going to be something similar to this frame for the AM5 platform?

I've been perfectly happy with my 12900KS temps under a 420mm AIO and was not considering one of these frames. But now I'm pissed. I hate China and their intellectual thievery and making everything cheap just to undercut the first maker. I'm going to buy the TG to throw them support and besides, anyone running a 12900KS likely can afford the OG.

them having too many washers to that weird or bad - they are most likely bagged by weight making sure it exceeds the average weight of four washers. they're so cheap they don't care if there's one or two extra as long as there's at least four. trying to be precise by having someone count them exactly would be a waste of human work hours.

C'mon Steve........
who the f needs these frames or would still need more info on it not already seen and heard a hundred times?!
Please be more creative and show a little more effort for the money.
I use 2 year old Thermal Grizzly Kryo under a ekwb Velocity2 without any of these crutchy frames. You see: who the f cares?!
