Look,as someone who made a living last year selling computer parts and full custom built computers this is off course just an opinion, but it makes sense. EVGA claims about their PSU income is off course thanks to the fact they spent the entire year 2021 selling bundles of video cards + power supply + keyboard + mouse. Off course, with the massive quantity of video cards they sold, attaching the extras to it, that also means the other part of the business went through the roof. They probably sold more power supplies, keyboard and mouse last year than they did in the last 5 years combined. So, it would not surprise me one bit,if the owner/CEO woke up one day and said: you know, we are never gonna have a run like this again unless there's another pandemic. Now we have to go back to the old struggle of trying to make a profit on video cards. I am done, let's finish while I am on top. This is a very possible scenario, EVGA is not a massive company like Asus, MSI. Calling it quits with millions of dollars in the bank, and still with a smaller company that can make you good money selling power supply, keyboard,mouse,etc.. because thw brand is still there obviously,it is a really safe way to get out.

19:10 : Really ? and how often does a user upgrades their power supply compared to their video card ?
judging from my personal behaviour as a customer ,the odds are at least 2 or 3 to 1 in favour of graphics cards unless we are excluding the DIY audience. Moreover what's the budget that someone spends for PSUs Vs GPUs , because most people pay far less attention and money to the power supply than their GPU.
As i said i'm more than certain that EVGA is moving to Intel , that's why they keep paying their GPU personel , and all these i want to devote time to my familly claims by their CEO are just laughable.
--Also about EVGA's 10year warranties : they used the vague term recently and their answer was satisfactory to you ? WOW !!!
what about the people who bought a product that says 10year-warranty and they expect from the company to honor that 10year they advertised ?
--Another objective one-sided presentation from Steve . Thanks Steve !!
Although i've been a 23 year nVIDIA customer , I'm glad i've never gave my money for an EVGA GPU.

looking it up in wiki, evga is quite small. IT would b ehard for them to survive in the long run with a smaller profit. The other companies like ASUS, MSI have thousands of employees, evga some how is listed as 250+. I think they got singinner but not an assembly line like the others. Meaning they dodnt product much of the smaller components. Heard they get MB from other too. they pick what componet they want, etc. They seem to be a niche, bouquet company in the busienss world. Maybe close to the resale level. Nvidia controlling their chip, is really jsut to protect themselves. If cardmaker produce a product that crashes alot they would blame nvidia not the card maker. I wonder how much boardmaker have free to put any componet and spec they want and it seem they don't have too much as long it falls within the spec rather it is a cheap capacitor or not. Thin EVGA picked the cheap capacitor that NExus reported on the 3090 early on. But hey they did have warrenty, but annoying to send it back in and have no gpu in the meantime.

One more thing - EVGA PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE more soundcards the NU is freaking BYOOTIFUL and people who don't recognize it's worth either don't know what they are talking about or have shitty speakers/headphones although I probably don't have to tell them that with their CEO's crazy soundsystem or whatever position that guy holds. EVGA becoming an audio company would be amazing and the profits on audio are insane. I used to sell audio at retail and even for the store we were more than doubling profit on every item. Look at Klipsch and Best Buy they do half off sales 4 times a year! Audio seems similar to golf balls. They cost nothing to make but you are paying for MASSIVE R&D costs because I also build my own speakers and work in live sound and let me tell you those DIY speaker kits from Parts-Express are badass you have to spend thousands for something better and used old gear is like the golden price to performance ratio. Speakers don't really go out of date.

I love there products been suing them for so long definitly will be stock piling some of there cards lol. I have there 680 4gb 2 of them I have a pair of there 780ti I have a triple of there 580 1.5 gb and a slew of other cards from them that are older. I ll probably hold onto my 3070 and 3080 from them now too.
I ll miss the quality. I have found that the qc on a lot of 30 series cards is straight trash and I never once had an issue with one of there 30 series cards. I think 40 series qc is going to be even worse though and I won t be buying any of them in any foreseeable near future. Definitly interested in 7000 series amd and Radeon stuff and intel graphics.
Great content Beve sturke. Thanks for getting us all the info!!! (Always found your under cover name to be super funny)

Less they are going to release 1300 watts and above i have no use for them. I am at the moment looking for a 3,000 W PSU. My graphics cards can chew over 1,200 watts at 65%. I do not care , i just get a bigger PSU.
I use the latest cards from radeon at the time of build,
I use the best MOBO that 1,100 dollars bye itself , i also have 128 gig of MOBO RAM Corsiar , I will not use any other ram.
to me its justice nvidia is now dying from poison it is, It refused to support those who brought voodo s 5500 ( which i still have) and 66,00 at 800+ dollar's a card i ran 2.
They would not even give the software to wrote my own drivers as my dual 5500 ran alien v predator at almost video quality, good enough for my cleaner to ask me what movie i was watching.

I have to say EVGA impressed me. They stood by their product when I had issues with a 1080 Ti I had owned for a couple of years. I ran into problems with it and they RMA'd the card for me without any hassle and communicated with me through their forums and directed me to that end. Apart from that, their effort to introduce a queue system during the supply shortages of 30 series cards also speaks volumes about where their concerns are in terms of consumer focus. I'm sad to see them leave the space and I would have been content to continue to give them my business. I'd go so far as to say I'm disappointed to have to give it to someone else. I do hope they eventually decide to take on AMD later on down the road. Good luck to them regardless.

Finally, I would add that I have been in managerial and director positions where we were working with an outside vendor or agency that was difficult to work with. Sometimes this was a person, sometimes this was a culture present at the company. The stress this puts on a company and everyone working in it can be daunting, even life-sucking. You dread days where you know there will be a meeting or some other interaction, dread days where you discuss contracts for the next year(s). Yes, you want to make a profit or serve your customers (in the case of a non-profit), but this stress of a toxic relationship can profoundly affect your quality of life, quality of life for your employees. It isn't inconsequential, quite to the contrary......

There were many instances of games crashing on specific models of overclocked GPUs from specific partners because of insufficient testing and pushing things too aggressively on the part of these GPU partner companies. They can really damage the perception of reliability for NVIDIA every time a vague news article hits saying that many NVIDIA GPUs are having stability issues in game x when in fact it s limited to specific partners that have hacked around protections meant to prevent this type of situation.
It s sorta weird you d assume that all these overclocking innovations are strictly good for the modern gaming environment where most gamers favor stability and reliability.

Good, goodbye EVGA I'm not sad. A few years ago I brought a top end card at the time. It stopped working just be fore the guarantee ran out, they replaced it with a card that looked and felt cheaper the build quality a card that was not as good. I stand by this comment because it only lasted one year. I sent it back to them but they said the guarantee was out on my original card.
I know that sounds ok to some people but If I brought a Mercedes and sent it back would I get a fiat uno in return I Think not I know its not the best example but it was the way I felt at the time.
I was all EVGA. I sold that PC and rebuilt a PC Using all Asus parts Never had a problem.

I bought an EVGA 750W Bronze PSU i few years ago for a build I was doing for a friend... about 2 years later it started have some baaaad coilwine and some ticks when turning it off or on. I wrote EVGA a supportticket, they said send it in, we'll see . 3 weeks later (it had to ship internationally) I got an 850W gold PSU return, and an e-mail saying something we could hear the same as you, we don't think it's a major issue, just some bad coilwine... sorry you had to wait, hope this new one will fit your needs ... They have AWESOME customer service in my book!

I don't have a conspiracy theory. I think it was an emotional, low reasoning obstinate move. It's antithetic to a corporation's mentality. Congrats to the CEO for following his principles to the company's grave. I'm sure that the PC power supply business will flourish in the coming years. Good thing this is a private company because the stockholders would have been crushed. This doesn't excuse anything nVidia is doing, but they should have exited to Intel slowly instead if they don't care about money that much.

13:24 what the hell are you talking about? you say only 3 people knew? before that you literally said there is no 4000 series from evga. do you think hundreds of people were working on the 4000 series? what about supply chain? all this stuff had to have been done months ago. they would now sit on a giant pile of finished and workong evga 4000 series stock. that would be one hell of a gigantic money and resource waste.
instead they stopped long ago and everybody knew it.

I respect EVGA's handling of this situation even more than their established customer relations/services practices. They aired grievances without providing fuel for drama from leaks, specific incidents, or slandering NVIDIA. Having Jay and Steve there was perfect - two different approaches that compliment eachother. Asking why and asking for details; relatable and in depth coverage telling EVGA's story and providing depth for those seeking to draw their own conclusions.
