This could be insanely terrible timing, but the NVidia 572 drivers have essentially killed my primary monitor.
I installed the newest update in either Jan or Feb and have had issues where when my pc will wake up from sleep, my primary monitor (An MSI Montiro) will flash the MSI logo on screen every few seconds then go back to normal. This kept happening up til last monday where the monitor just started flashing insanely and not able to really do anything about it.
I had to lower the brightness of the monitor to 15 or lower so it stops flashing, but obviously it's hard to see things especially in games cause of the brightness being so low.
I had to even get a replacement monitor but it arrived DoA (Thanks Asus) so yeah these issues wouldn't have occurred I don't think if it wasn't for installing the 572 driver.
Before it's asked too, I did just about every troubleshooting step I could possibly think of to try and fix it. It seems something broke inside of it after the nvidia update so unless someone knows this exact issue and a potential fix that doesn't include me screwing the monitor open, it seems like it's probably dying and I haven't been able ot get a replacement monitor just yet

So that's why I'm having a lot of problems lately, I'm using a RTX 3070 and 3 monitors, I can't enable G-Sync in more that one monitor, if I try all monitors start to get black screen, come back for a few seconds and before I can even desable it again all the screens get black again, a few games are crashing like Forza Horizon 5 and the performace even with overclock is a little lower compared to a benchmark I've done in October, Dolby Atmos randomly get a high pitch sound sometimes without anything playing, that's very annoying. All my setup in WC, everything running silent below 55 degres including my i9, fresh new windows install and it didn't solve the problem, gonna try to install a old version of Nvidia Driver and see if it solve, the problems have started about 1-2 months ago and are happen often, that DXGI error happened to me several times also, a few was even a hard lock and I had to force reset to get out of BSOD... Luckly I haven't burn my money buying the 4000 series neither I will with 5000...

I'm having real issues with a 5080 and I can already see it's going to happen when booting.
When booting into Windows, mouse and application will stutter right away and eventually a black screen will appear. Only a reboot, sometimes two, will fix it. I don't even bother booting a game since the issue will not go away without a reboot or by waiting a few minutes.
My setup:
Two monitors, both set to 144hz (One is 180hz native), connected by display port, G-sync off for both.
7800X3D
32GB 6400 RAM
Asus B650E-F mobo
PNY 5080 OC
Latest nVidia driver, 572.83
No overclock on anything.
Windows is installed as clean as possible, chipset drivers are up-to-date, BIOS too. I do not use sleep mode and always shutdown and reboot my machine with a shortcut to a shutdown -f -s -t 0 command.
I was able to fix this by setting Spread Spectrum from auto to enabled in BIOS. And I do not even know what that is supposed to do but so far no more stutter after boot since two days

I have a 4090 FE and I'm currently on version 572.70. The only big issue I have, which I wouldn't call big considering what others are unfortunately experiencing, is when using G-Sync enabled, my games will minimize themselves and take me back to my desktop. My games won't crash, but I have to click back into the game from the taskbar. The other bug I've had is while playing my games, the game will just pause by itself. No crashes, or forced reboots, or black screens. The games I've been playing recently on these 572.xx drivers have been TLoU Part 1, RDR2, Black Myth Wukong, Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P, Remnant 2, The First Descendant, Battlefield 2042, and Call of Duty. I'm not using multiple displays, and my GPU is connected via HDMI to a 4k 120Hz TV.

Multi-monitor detection has gotten worse and worse over the years on my machine. Screens have to swap on startup everytime. Even though my main monitor is plugged into the main port.. Boot up and bios happens on my main screen and then it loads flipped and fixes itself in very unsettling fashion.. I wonder if it has anything to do with left over detection stuff on mine because my card still has 1 hdmi port and I use 2 displayports. Pretty sure those cards still count the hdmi port as the main port. Probably doesn't have anything to do with this bc I'm still on a 2060.. Thanks gpu market.. But just my 2 cents. Multiple monitor support, has gotten worse overtime and sometimes now the main screen won't even come back on after monitor sleep.

I'm not sure if this could be related, but i work for a school district, and every classroom has a pc setup with a 60hz dell monitor and a 67 in promethean touch screen panel. Ever since the windows cumulative update for January, if the system is turned on while both monitors are plugged it, it won't register the speakers that the promethean board has. You have to unplug the small monitor, restart the system, and once booted, you can plug the other one back in. If you dont do this, both monitors will work just fine, but no speakers can be registered by the device. It's almost as if sound is not an option. It's the strangest thing I've ever dealt with because it is consistent enough that i have to apply this fix at least 3 times a day.

Funny, I recent had my pc checked out after finding the system freezes during games using DLSS. The shop found nothing, gave it a good cleaning, and I rolled back drivers from 572 to 565 and been good since then. Well my 2nd monitor on DP keeps flicking to black at least once or twice a day, thought it doesn't get enough power occasionally. Now you're telling me that the issues might lie with NVidia From a full-on consumer viewpoint, the world was clearly better before AI frame generation. Don't get me wrong, I like amazing advance in tech as much as the next person, but if it's gonna be issue-ridden like that I'm out. I'd very much prefer stability over visual finesse, thank you.

I had a wild problem with Minecraft(bugrock), the game had massive studders in windowed and multiplayer, but not full screen or single player, whats weirder is i tried charging some control panel settings and then my screens started just turning off randomly when turn them on/boot/wake, after clean installing everything works fine now. Don't know why, don't know if this will happen again, or if it's related to there drivers being shit recently but it happened.
No other games had studders as well but cyberpunk was cashing when turning on DLSS/RT, tbh that could just be cyberpunk.

I have gotten shit handed to me. All my modern games started crashing (event viewer nvlddmkm.sys ID 153 and 13 errors). Only they happen in games like vulkan titles look doom eternal and wolfenstein. Testing with furmark, occt, 3dmark don't show any issues. Since I replaced my 3080 with a 5070 ti I no longer have the ability to rollback to previous 566 drivers. I have tested plenty (DDU), different RAM configurations, OCCT temp checking. Temps always stay normal. I don't have any hair on my head to pull out and I can't go to 566 driver since it is not supported on the 50 series cards...

I've been having these issues too on my pc, I've got 2 monitors. one is the Acer Predator 32 inch GSync Monitor, the other is a Dell 32 inch non GSync Monitor. I've been having Black Screen hard locks every so often. I just had one yesterday playing the Beta for the new Dune MMO. Was using my keyboard wheel to adjust the sound while the game was loading up and it black screen hard locked. I'm wondering if this also might be a driver conflict issue that's occurring too
And yes, I have had a lot of these black screen happen Alt Tabbing out! P:isses me off to no end. I have an AORUS RTX 5080.

Under Linux in both Ubuntu and Arch, I was getting full blank screen after upgrading to the Nvidia 572 drivers. Come to find out the actual issue was that VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) wasn't working over HDMI. It had been a previous problem in their drivers and was fixed, but it seemed to be reintroduced in the 572 drivers. So the fix for me was to buy a display port cable, but it indicates to me that there might be some regression somewhere in their drivers.
Also, is that a rusty can of WD40 on the test bench What's it doing there Why is it rusty We need answers!

Here is a fun one: 3 displays, 2x 240hz 4k 1x 144hz 1440p (2nd 4k display set to 120hz, 1440p display set to 60hz because of bandwidth limitation of DP). Since the driver update that included the RTX 5xxx cards, I was unable to run all 3 displays anymore, Win11 did not offer 4k res anymore.
Now with physically plugin in the displays the way that the main display is display 1(was display 2 before) in Win11, suddenly everything works again.
I really would like to know more about this, why does the order of ports (or the order in Win11) suddenly is so important

RTX 2060 Super; single monitor (TV) here.
I've been having crashes in Rivals ever since it launched, and kept the drivers updated until last month. For awhile I rolled back to the February driver because the first March driver had extremely frequent crashes.
572.83 has yet to crash in Rivals on me but I've also been playing a lot less.
Again, I'm on a 20 series, and Rivals is the only game that's been crashing for me, so probably no one cares. Just putting this out there. (and I thoroughly tested DLSS and Reflex on and off for each driver)

I was fighting this a few days ago on my 5080. I found that having my TCL 55r646 connected to the hdmi port, even when powered off, was causing windows to sporadically rediscover the display (rhythmically every 30-60seconds). It caused a spike in explorer.exe and nvidia container cpu usage, and the entire system stuttered when this occurred (mouse would momentarily freeze up). The only fix I could find was to disconnect the tv from the hdmi port. It was maddening trying to find the cause of this. The tv works fine as a display when powered on.

Have you ever heard about loseless scaling software It is on steam. It is basically frame generation of different types and kinds to all gpus no matter the manufacturer, vendor etc. BUT it has some limitations and it really seems that nvidia DLSS has same issues. The LS software cant work with other overlay software like for nvidia app their filters etc. It does not function in full screen - only windower or windowed borderless and it does not work with multiple monitors. All these things can be causing issues even for the nvidia dlss.

This also happens in Monster Hunter Wilds. I have a 4080 and use max settings dlss quality and frame gen on. I would get crazy flickering thats not seen on video but would be headache inducing on the eyes. Had to roll back drivers to 566.XX and disable GSync to make it stop. The new drivers dont let u actually disable GSync sometimes. Even after doing all this i would get the same issue unless i disable and re enable frame gen (I use Dlss swapper to use the latest ver of dlss and framegen for this game)

I'm on 24H2 with a 4080 and I noticed that I only crash when I use DLSS G-sync the latest frame gen (this is critical). If I'm playing a game which hasn't updated to frame gen 310, I don't crash. The only other weird glitch that I have, which might be caused by 24H2 itself, is my mouse cursor not updating when switching between modes. For example, it'll look like I'm trying to select text, when I did that 2 minutes ago and I'm not even hovering over text anymore, and it should be the default cursor.

14:50 I had the problem with the system freezing after idle on my 3090 with dual monitor setup. It took a lot of tries, including disabling fast startup, driver wipe and changing of cables - but I think what did help was to go offline and DDU the drivers as you suggested. NOTE, you need to download your chocen driver beforehand, disconnect from the internet, uninstall with DDU, restart and clean install the nvidia drivers, and then enable the internet. Otherwise it won't fix it.

Great video Steve, good tech content with just the right amount of irony to spicy it up (not like other creators 'live-shows'.....).
Unfortunately Nvidia has forgot who made them rise and become such a big, top-of-the-world company.
In the meantime, it seems that server oriented IA market is close to be saturated and soon won't offer much more opportunities for Nvidia.
What will happen then We shall see.
