Corsair Remembered How to Make a Case: Frame 4000D RS ARGB Review

Sponsor: Thermal Grizzly Duronaut on Amazon - https://geni.us/tpgcPMw The Corsair FRAME 4000D case puts Corsair on a much better path than its other recent cases, like the 6500D. The FRAME 4000D and 4000D RS ARGB reprises concepts from the normal 4000D and 4000X cases, but only the concepts - the case itself has been totally overhauled. The motherboard tray, power supply shroud, and other components are modular and intended to be replaceable with 3D printable components. Even without that aspect though, the front mesh is wide open and breathable, helping with thermal performance in our benchmarking. This is a much better showing from Corsair than the trainwreck that was their last case. We've added fans to functionally convert it into the FRAME 4000D RS ARGB in thermal benchmarking. I have noticed there is an 'airflow' war going on between case manufacturers. It's like the refresh rate war between gaming monitor manufacturers. Better airflow doesn't sound bad on its own, the catch is that more airflow in 99% of cases means less material which translates into weaker structure. I own a Corsair 1000D case and recently, Corsair has released the 9000D Airflow, which is the 'improved' version of the 1000D. Whilst it is true it adds/improves certain feature, there's a lot of thinning, trimming, hole punching going on with the design. I can tell you from my expereience, the 1000D is an exceptional, premium case with a really great and balanced airflow (and high price!), I have a custom water loop with 32 fans inside of it and there's zero issues with airflow. It's not just the airflow though, they also removed beautiful tempered glass panels and replaced them with high airflow penis pattern panels, and instead of brushed aluminium supports at the bottom (which are also very aesthetic), they replaced them with ugly conventional legs each corner, but they charge the same price as the 1000D used to cost. WHen you look at both cases, you can tell which one fits the premium category. I don't like these flimsy high airflow cases, where manufacturers push airflow past necessary.

Do the GM team don't want to do NZXT case review anymore
We ask since a lot of month for both H5 Flow 2024 and H7 Flow 2024 pc case review and you secretly add the H5 Flow 2024 on charts without even doing a video, that's a shame, you know how your reviews of PC case works very well so please do more pc case reviews.
As for this Corsair PC Case, it is not even relevant imho to have a video review, flimsy build quality, cheap I/O implementation and so on (i had one), NZXT bring back what a single chamber case would be with the H7 Flow 2024 with huge optimizing internal spacing, please consider adding it (on charts at least) for the future next pc case review, because on paper it's a monster but a video that review the porosity mesh performance of Lian Li and NZXT pc case would be insanely good.

I love Corsair. I know it's not a PC case BUT... a couple weeks ago my PC started random reboots and app crashes. it was my RAM, Corsair RAM. i emailed them and told them my ram was bad. they asked for proof of purchase and serial number. i sent that info to them and the next email i got from them had a shipping label in it. i sent the RAM and they shipped me new RAM just about as easy as it could be. no problems, no lies, no BS. they just had a customer with an issue and they fixed it. i didn't even know corsairs RAM had a lifetime warranty. when i was troubleshooting i noticed the warranty on the package and emailed them to ask and ended up with my problem fixed.

This case looks like a legitimately good upgrade over the 4000D/5000D Airflow cases (I have the latter case). I have to say, I don't love the aesthetics of the new front panel design, but the numbers don't lie, it does seem to improve cooling significantly even in a like-for-like fan setup, I assume by reducing turbulence by not drawing air over sharp flat edges. There are a bunch of small improvements over the previous generation of cases that makes this new design an attractive one, although it's questionable why anybody would buy the version without fans just to save $5. Even if you don't plan on using those fans, having 3 extra Corsair RS120 fans for $5 is a steal.

Hey, didn't computers start running GPU's that kick out significant heat Perhaps this trend started this year, I guess Corsair should be an expert in such things. If so, then why are they still running solid glass panels on the sides Why aren't they putting fan intakes or exhaust slots in that panel Why is Corsair designing their cases to force power hungry GPU fans against a flat piece of glass Like I said, I get that this power hungry GPU thing just recently occurred, but when will Corsair start releasing products to support this issue When will Corsair hire case design engineers who have built a computer at least once

Still missing one crucial module. A solution for the Bluray player to run the Wingcommander movie for another 4000 times. This means it still doesn't beat my current semi-modular Bequiet case which can also handle more drives of all sorts and even come with a bunch of fans for the same budget without me needing to print my own parts because the spare parts where already included and when you lose a little window rubber and the dog swallowed it Bequiet just ships a new one in an envelope for free

That side panel looks almost exactly like the design of the Antec Flux Pro. It's unfortunate they're also still using their begging-for-shattering ball and socket glass window mounts. My 5000d's side window exploded in my hands because, surprise surprise, glass doesn't like being bent outwards on the side like that. The motherboard tray is nice though. Maybe we'll finally catch back up to the early 2000s in terms of QoL like the CM Stacker 830 Evo's removable motherboard tray.

I have the 5000D Airflow since 2021, really like it and now wanted something similar for a different build, that had to be a bit smaller than the 5000D. So i bought an old 4000D airflow case a few days ago and really had to look out for one to buy because i didnt want the newer Frame 4000D. Seems like they discontinued the production of the old 4000D or at least it looks like it here in Germany. Luckily i got one but its a bit sad for future builds.

I'm kind of disappointed that out of all the cases listed for comparison here that none of Lian Li's Lancool II or 3 cases were on here to compare, instead just the Lancool 207...I have both the Lancool 3 and 2 Mesh cases and need those case's baseline numbers to decide if this new Corsair case is a worthy successor to either of my Lancool Mesh cases for an upgrade but, that being said this still was a very informative video review as usual Steve ;)

3 weeks ago i build my new PC. I ordered the older version of this one. after building the entire PC only needing to put the Graphics in. the case was too small.
i have a 5090 Aorus master 36cm in length the case support 36cm card BUT NOT if you have an AIO in the front.
tried fans in the front and radiator in the front. it did not fit and the older case does not support 360 AIO on the top.
so i ordered this one and i love it

That back panel is AMAZING. Please god let us have more of these! Also, can we have a mATX versions This is beautiful and _almost_ fits what I want from a new case to replace the Thermaltake View 27 (I love the gullwing, what can I say!). No one else has really given me what I want (the ease of fitment and design of an open loop has been make or break for me for a long time.

Hey Steve! Great & thorough review per usual! I'm having hard time deciding which case to replace my OG O11. Wondering if I should get Lian Li CG237 (Microcenter) Montech HS01 or just go all out and get HAVN HS420 (Non-VGPU)
P.S. Sry I missed your Computer event earlier this year in North Carolina, wanted to go since it wasn't crazy far from me)

Can we have some updated cs2 benchmarks, theres practically nobody that includes cs in their benchmarks even tho its the most played game on steam rn and ur last cs2 benchmark video is outdated since it had an intel 1tth gen cpu spec. Would like to see the comparison of the new x3d cpus in a heavy cpu demanding game.

yeah I would still get a Fractal, this is the new century's bait and switch tactic from big companies. Make an endless stream of subpar and overpriced slop products for 1/2 years, and then make one good product to make consumers get invested in the brand again and mantain that market share from legacy goodwill.

Have a 4000d airflow, love it, good quality, nice features. Only thing that was bad was the mech in the front was a bit lose and was rubbing against the front fan. But i emailed them and they acknowledge the problem and just send me an updated front mech for free! No rubbing anymore, lovely customer care!

Got the original 4000D Airflow based entirely off your review of it (that and it was on sale). Still running it in my current build, still great temps. Doubt I'm going to change it anytime soon, but good to see that they've remembered how good the original was and said hey why don't we just do that again

Is there a reason they don't mention the lancool 216 when referencing comparison cases and their performance I know the lancool 207 is newer, but is it also in general a better performer that the 216 I ask because when I see the charts it seems like it gets better numbers in certain situations.

I purchased this case. Building in it was amazing. This is like my 6th PC build and it was by far the easiest case I have built in. THE BEST PART of this case is definitely the two 120 mm fans you can mount under the GPU. My 5080 stays so cool(under 70 C) even under heavy loads and overclocked.

guess ill keep using my thermaltake corex9. when its 10 years old, and still doing everything these newer cases taking ideas from it. removeable mobo tray got it. fan mounting system have it. to say the 4000d is revolutionary is a joke. just like Apple trying to catch up to android

I think there's a good argument for blaming the player and the game.
If the fanbase for something has clearly recognized a severe problem and thought it was so bad that they went off and started their own thing on the side in order to avoid the problem. That speaks volumes to me.
