if its too long have it ai read =D
the end of my and grok v3's conversation
possible fix to 600w connector problems an possibly higher applications when higher standards come out
me: maybe use some conductive paste to seal the connections contacts together
Grokv3: Using conductive paste to seal the connections could reduce carbon buildup by improving contact between the socket and plug, minimizing arcing and heat generation. The paste, typically containing materials like silver or graphite, enhances conductivity and fills micro-gaps, reducing resistance and the risk of carbon formation. However, it must be applied carefully to avoid short circuits or mess, and compatibility with the connector materials is key to prevent corrosion or degradation. Regular maintenance would still be needed to ensure long-term reliability, especially under high loads approaching the 600-watt limit.
im just saying it could make better contact and the connector not be the middle man in ohms law reaction and burning at the weak spot and not the 1/2 way point of the connector
You're suggesting that conductive paste could improve contact between the socket and plug, reducing the connector's role as the middle man in the circuit where resistance (per Ohm's Law) causes heat buildup and burning at the weakest point, typically not at the halfway point of the connector. By enhancing contact, the paste lowers resistance at the connection, minimizing hot spots and carbon buildup, which should reduce the risk of burning or failure at vulnerable points. This could effectively shift the stress away from the connector's weak spots, improving reliability under the 600-watt limit. Just ensure the paste is suitable for the materials and load to avoid issues like migration or corrosion.
im just saying it works on any connections aslong as you dont cross ports and socket holes
Got it. You're saying conductive paste can improve connections on any socket and plug setup, as long as you avoid applying it in a way that crosses ports or socket holes, which could cause short circuits. By enhancing contact and reducing resistance, the paste helps prevent heat buildup and carbon formation at the connection points, regardless of the specific connector type, as long as the application is precise. This should minimize burning or damage under the 600-watt limit, provided the paste is compatible and applied correctly.

Lossless Scaling is SCAM! Do not buy this shit! They market it with lots of fancy words that are designed to fool you.
#1 Old games do NOT need upscaling and have enough FPS on their own. Unless you have bad hardware and MUST play in 4k (you do not!).
#2 It is NOT lossless it's named after some BS that just multiplies pixels in pixel games that are emulated games so it's VERY niche. Most people use it for different things.
#3 FSR and its own upscaling tech is shitty and looks shitty when it's not built into the game engine, it's a shitty patch on top solution.
#4 Their fake frame BS is just designed to create more inaccurate fake frames to get the numbers high so rons think it's great when it's NOT. It is programmed by one dude or a small dev team it's not built into the games, so it's common sense that it's shitty and can not compete with AMD or NVIDIA. Save the money. FG it pointless anyway, if the underlaying base frames are not smouth enough anyway games do nto feel responsive and lag, it just adds another minimal lag on top for lots of fake inaccurate frames you do not need. The irony is that if you do not need FG, that is the exact case where FG would make some kind of sense.
#5 ShadPS4 (Bloodborne finally on PC) has its own upscaler (I think it's FSR 1.0 for some reason) build in so you do NOT need it for that. Also, you can enable tweaks to run it at your native res if you have the GPU for it.

Nvidia's greed and switch to mostly ai is the main reason why I'm looking to switch to Intel or AMD when I upgrade the gpu in my budget system. The pricing for Nvidia cards really is annoying to me, paying more for ... fake ai frames that really don't matter to me. Nah, I'll pass. I'm not a fan of every single thing with any electronics having ai - not so much fear of Skynet but the surveillance creep showing up everywhere. Noticed my phone auto scans my photos to put together mini movies and no way to turn it off. Just seems like, especially with the four trillion valuation, the we're going to be rich stuff, it's just pure greed at this point. I should've known when EVGA decided not to follow suit.
AMD or Intel graphics is what I've been researching for my i5 12600k system. Pretty sad because I was a fan of EVGA/Nvidia for a long time. Now they really don't offer a mid-range budget card, because 8gb these days is dumb.
8,405 sweat drops btw, I feel your pain 93F 97% humidity here in the south US.... you need a towel to go outside. Drink water and stay hydrated out there

I play NATIVE, Game provided software crutches don't make my GPU any better, just try to hide just how useless it actually is for the resolution of the actual hardware pixels it actualy has & need my PC to feed it with those exact frames rendered direct to the display.
Choosing the native resolution for my future gaming is the heart of what the entire PC must drive, without ever needing software crutches in 2017 for 1440p 60hz an EVGA 3080 was enough, 4k by 2021 Then came 20 Series Render 0 & RT no games even existed.
By 2021, my display choice was 1440p RT 50-165Hz VRR, as 4k was unviable & I knew I needed an EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3, to get that native performance until 2025, when native 4k should have been viable if Nvidia had not downgraded the entire stack by a class.
AMD has nothing, I will wait for next gen, because Nvidia gave me the crutches to wait for AMD to have a viable native 4k RT card worth buying, not having 12VHP fire traps, just for starters, the 60 class 6080, can kiss my sissy ass goodbye.

I have gamed on Linux as far back and 2005, back then you needed to know your stuff and it was messy. Nowadays i click on a game install it and it works, sometimes i lose a little performance other times i gain it. I have played games where friends with very similar PC set-ups have had problems on windows and its worked flawlessly on linux. My controllers just works when i plug them in, i have no spyware. If i want software i just install it and it works i dont have to download it and then run some crappy exe installer ( MSIs exist or a reason people, use them). The whole experaince is just worlds ahead of windows. The only major issue i have seen is that i have to deal with large CSV files from time to time ( 20k users from 365 etc), libre office calc does not have a hope in hell of working with a sheet that big , but that is why visidata exists ....... and its foooking awsome!

The idea that AI is a valid substitute for being alone isn't just a Microsoft notion. Not long ago I got a letter from my Health insurance informing me that loneliness is rampant among seniors. To address this they have offered AI access to insured to talk to and combat loneliness. AI is capable of doing some amazing things but mankind has always taken things that jump us forward and first used them for evil before finding good uses. AI is no different and replacing actual humans IS NOT one of its good uses! Love your content, as a gamer and tech enthusiast since long before there were PC's - Yes people gamed on mainframe terminals

I could do it.
I could buy Nvidia stocks.
This would ensure the companies stock would fall drastically shortly after.
I can take you down Jensen.
You better bring out some more Vram on your gamer gpus leather jacket boy.
If I see another 8gb gpu from your company Ill do it.

Hey GN, you guys ever thought about doing some homelab stuff Like reviewing some of silverstone non desktop cases or testing fans and coolers in an environment where they are working a lot more of the time. I'd love to see those aspects brought in to be examined in your gauntlet

I had to literally pause and process that post from Matt Turnbull when it was read out. I'm outright flummoxed. Literally befuddled. Entirely besides myself. To be so out of touch with humanity to ironically suggest AI tools for emotional coping, with a straight face. Inhuman behavior.

I am curious about gaming on Linux, when will the triple A games with anticheat be ready for Linux gaming (for multiplayer gameplay) I know certain Linux distros have gaming capabilities with steam and other games but still big multiplayer games with anti cheat don’t work

These people in China are so obnoxious, honking all day long. Like how is this helping anyone, I bet people are so used to it that no honk ever is actually heard as a warning or anything. It's so obnoxious, I wonder as dystopian as China is why they have no law against this.

That Silverstone case looks really slick! Industrial design with a great look and function. I'm trying not to think about the unimaginable amount of money these corporations have while I can barely afford groceries.

Personally think it would be nice if PC cases were left out of HW News. Unless they're doing something that is truly compelling. More interested in Tannens Wireless non-RGB Fan. Thanks Steve.
