Another great video! I have the Fire TV 4K, Chromecast and Apple TV 4K. I find myself using the Apple TV 4K most of the time because of the WATCH NOW feature. It shows the latest episode of a show in my WATCH NOW list and when I click on it, it just opens up the most appropriate app (i.e. Prime Video, Hulu, Disney, CBS All Access, etc). That way, I don't have to keep clicking in and out of Apps to find the latest episode of a show I want to watch. I just love the simplicity of it.

Roku is a Apple Device. Amazon is alot better on your Budget. Than Roku. Its more costly that Amazon. Because on Amazon you get internet. allowing you to get more Free apps online. Not limiting your to just apps on your device. Roku don't let you surf the net looking for a larger choice of free apps to choose from. On Roku your limited on the Free TV and Movies apps that basically are all the same old shows and movies to pick from. Some are good shows but you already seen them.

This is probably a dumb question here. Can you hook a sound bar to these sticks
I have a Samsung TV and none of the 3 chords my soundbar came with fits a thing on the back of my TV...BUT i can hook my sound bar to my blu ray player with which i use to stream with now..BUT apparently I have to upgrade to a stick or something, because come Dec 1st (according to Netflix)my blu ray will no longer work for streaming. That's why I ask. Anyone know

I use both Fire Stick 4K and Roku Ultra. Honestly I like the former better because most of the apps are a lot smoother & also have better sound quality on the Fire Stick compared to their Roku versions. My Roku Ultra at this point is mainly a Spectrum TV machine. I also like the fact that the Fire Stick 4K supports all HDR formats whereas the Roku is just HDR10 only.

Have both roku in bedrooms and firestick in living room. Roku was my favorite but firestick slowly taking over in the household because the roku keeps returning back to the homescreen in one bedroom. Can be watching a show and 15 minutes in the Roku returns to the homescreen. But love Roku other than this one glitch on the kids bedroom tv

Dolby Vision is nothing but a marketing gimmick!! Unless u have a 12-bit panel with hdmi 2.1 ur not really seeing Dolby Vision at it's full glory. No 10-bit panel aka 4k UHD tv shows true Dolby on it, this is why their throwing 8K panels at everybody cause its all about more money for the Samsung,Sony ,LG and Vizio companies of the world.

I bought a roku tv for my dad and I loved the interphase specially because my dad is 82 and it’s so much easier to transition for him. I can’t imagine him using an Amazon tv. I bought my mom a Amazon tv and after watching this video I canceled it. Guess I’ll keep looking for another sale on a roku tv

I tested both, and picked the Firestick 4k. Firestick shows movie trailers, Roku does not, and Firestick has a very nice watch-list feature. Having the apps stored on the Firestick device makes it run a bit snappier. Roku remote drove me nuts, with volume on the side. Firestick is nice and simple.

Whichever platform will let you install from 'unknown sources' in the huge winner. Thus the Fire Stick takes it. Roku may have more apps but you are limited to just that, apps. Roku would probably be better for the masses who aren't so tech savvy, so I can see why it would be more appealing.

I can turn off the ads on FireTV, but I can't remap the buttons on the Roku for services I don't have, plus the constant branding. They both sell their souls and each have their place. :)
Edit: Dolby Vision made me go all Firetv vs Roku, and the remote control and its functionality.

I think everyone can agree that using either one these devices to watch tv beats paying a high cable bill lol. I know because I use to have cable and got tired of paying a high ass cable bill so now I’m just using a antenna, Netflix, Hulu and a bunch of free streaming services.

I have both. Roku tv does not have internet ability to search for things. Roku does not have a download system for 3rd party apks.......And yes I have a vpn. So my solution is to put the firesitck on the back of the roku tv for 3rd party apks. and internet.

Roku don't support Twitch.
And if someone is planning to use with Computer Monitor (instead of TV), then good luck controlling volume by physically reaching out to monitor buttons everytime. This is where Chromecast blows both Roku and Firestick away.

I have both. Roku 2 in the living room, and Fire TV in the bedroom. I like them both, but I agree with him that there are pluses and minuses to both.
I like that there are more apps available for the Fire TV, but the Roku streams better.

Thanks for the great review. The search feature on Roku makes me not even want to consider the Firestick. Also, with Amazon having it's own streaming service, they will have a harder time getting and keeping certain competitor services.

Don't make fun of my Express man, some of us barely have enough money to do anything with. I'm on disability so I budget everything out...i'm lucky I got one of those. If you wanna help a brother out with a nice new TV hey I'll take it.

Can you install Youku on Roku
Can you install TencentVideo on Roku
Roku is only for Americans who have fallen in turns on staying ahead of technology.

I have a Roku tv and I love it. I’ve used a fire stick before for a while but I just prefer the Roku interface. I’m 32 but just prefer the simplicity of the interface compared to fire tv and I don’t care about modifying.

I always prefer products that aren't meant to push other things. My experience with Apple, Samsung, etc is they force you into using their own stuff. Give me pure Android OS or a device that's pure, over any of that nonsense

You can't sideload apps/apk unknown sources on the Roku or add Kodi. Roku is for elderly people that doesn't care about paying for movies and apps lol

No doubt Roku is paying you for this video. For that reason this video cancels itself out. I will look for another video where it's not so jaded.

Roku: simple, less busy, better search. - Fire: it's all about the side-loads and tweaks. I've got to have both in my house.
