Hey Distrohuggers,
I am in the new version of Pale Moon web-browser, just released. So far so good. I think it is the default in my current distro today, which is my beloved ever-so-trustworthy SparkyLinux. Really hard to beat Sparky. Lots of exciting things going on in the world of desktop Linux. Nearly every major distro has a 2019 release out now available for download, featuring the 4.20.x kernel and the latest updates to graphical environments. We now have LXQt 0.14 by default in Fedora Rawhide if you install their community spin of LXQt. Ubuntu just came out with a point-release. And NEON is just making progress on almost a weekly basis. If you made a list of what OpenSUSE Tumbleweed can do that Windows 95, can not do, I bet the list would be over 100 things. And soon we can easily play with beta versions of software in Gnome via flatpak. But there is still one thing Windows 95 does better. Out of the box, it plays pinball better.

It is with a sad heavy heart that I report the official death of the KORORA project. January 26th, 2019. While it had been inactive for almost 2 years, there was still hope of finding a Fedora rebel to come in and take over the mission - the mission being to bring Fedora to the novice world, similar to how Mint has done with Debian. Korora 24 was a fine distro when it was released, but it was just too far behind all the other distros to be of any relevance. But using it gave me the nerve to try a Fedora install. And now I live in Fedora Rawhide, leaning out over the edge of the cutting edge, and I can see a bright future for the Linux desktop.

Glad to see another informative episode, Derek! You do a great job of curating the Linux news front, selecting the most interesting stories. I must admit, when this didn't come out Thursday afternoon I started worrying. Were you sick? Did your equipment crash? Was it the proverbial bus that got you? Maybe I need to get a life. :-)

I have been playing with Gentoo. It is time consuming. I think the difference between Arch and Gentoo is that Arch allows you to have a life outside your computer. But it also offers a certain level of control. I think its a good balance. I havent given up on Gentoo. Just only working on it a tiny bit at a time is all.

i don't think steam going away would effect linux support all that will change is the way we get content i really see devs self publishing games on there own website hell feral interactive already does this you can buy the linux builds from there website and it prevents the valve profit cuts

I'll say this like I did on TOS'S recent stream. Linux gaming is ALIVE and well. The person who wrote that is full of pure hogwash.
As for Canonical planning awesome new content for the snap store, is because they are planning on removing APT.

Excellent video -DistroTube, I also like what you did with the lighting on it, sometimes it seems that you have circles in your eyes and it's because of the lighting in your room and how white you are hahaha, good job man, keep up the good work.

As for Windows being able to see Linux files. I dual boot Windows 10/Ubuntu and I'm comfortable with windows being completely unaware of Linux on a secondary drive and would prefer to keep it that way.

Good Gentoo info! I have no interest in gaming or snaps or chromeOS or WSL, but you somehow make these topics and other content very interesting. Great content! Awesome video! Thank you!
