Experimenting With A Two Camera Setup (Not Real Content!) DistroTube This short video is just me trying out some new camera equipment that I just purchased. This is just a quick 3-minute video of a two-camera setup, with one camera directly in front of me, and a second camera at an angle and on a motorized curved track. - https://amzn.to/33hqwj1 - Manfrotto 290 Xtra Fluid Tripod - https://www.proaim.com/products/proaim-3ft-curve-n-line-video-camera-slider-with-motion-control-system - Proaim 3ft Curved Slider

Yo, sup bro. I was watching your video about your workflow, that u like having 3 large screens, I dig that style too. But I want to try making what would be an immersion workspace. I wanna use instead of 3 screens, use two projectors aligned as one large wide single thing. (I know it is possible to merge two of them to make one seamless wide). Then of course would need to place the desk with all computers kinda like as in a command center in the center of the room, but I think this will be so freaking cool man. Ill make a render of the setup sometime using blender. What do u think? Wanna try the -immersion workspace videowall- ? I think would be pretty dope. (All linux of course)

Nice kit and a good first go at a video with it. Sound is as good as usual -. Main camera angle and main camera lighting are good with a nice view of your displays in the background - Second camera might be better in a slightly different position so that you're looking down the camera more? Also, the lighs from your mixer might be impacting the lighting on camera 2? Cam 1's lighting is generally better than camera 2 IMHO. Once you get to grips with the new kit you'll be producing even better content than you already do -. Keep up the great work and thanks for producing such quality content.

Please always LOOK at the live camera. When you are looking at the camera, you are looking at the viewer. When you are not looking at the live camera, it instantly destroys the sense that you are taking to -me.-. Since there clearly is no one else in the room, I don't know what you're looking at, but it isn't me (the viewer). Looking off camera during an interview makes sense. The person on camera is speaking to another person who is off camera. The camera is then acting as an OBSERVER.

I personally don-t like the side view while its moving, its something you would see in an emotional scene in a movie or you would use it for product showcasing maybe. I find it much less engaging when you are talking at the audience. Maybe if you wanted to create a cool intro you could use it, with some time lapse effect or something for a part of it. But its your content, totally up to you. Good luck with what you do with it.

First of all, your single camera shooting you've been using all along was good enough because you also cut away to a computer screen to what you are talking about. I however really like what you are doing with two cameras, so if color grading and stuff like that doesn't get too complex and relay your projects I think you can go ahead, I liked the angles.

I like the camera angles. I would say, though, that light is a bit rough. Maybe the next acquisition could be bigger light + diffuser. Or if those lights can be brighter, just bigger diffuser.
But I really love the change, specially for those -hey DT- videos

In actual videos, I would keep the cuts between static and moving less frequent. It can be unpleasant to watch for people with some types of motion sickness to have a constantly changing frame of reference like in this video.

Works really well DT. I like the idea of the slider it creates a really awesome effect. Would like to see more of the content with the slider. Even to create great B roll for some of your content. Keep up the great work.

Hey DT can you hire a guy to pull up videos for you on the fly.
Like -hey jamie could you pull up that distro with Hannah Montana on it? It was like the wild west back then, there were no copyright problems either.-

reply

Hey dt, to be honest with you I think the color grading is off. The blacks are crushed and there's too much contrast which causes colour banding especially in the dark black areas. Just a little advice -
