I played far cry 3 on my ubuntu a few years ago and was surprised at the FPS it was the same as when I played it on Windows, maybe only 3 or 5 FPS difference but still awesome since Far Cry 3 uses directX9 which has to go through the conversion process in WINE different from Vulkan which can be played natively. I'm amazed by WINE's performance in translating directx9 especially in FPS games, it's really helpful

Inside my compatdata folder -> 271590 .. there's literally nothing.
I have proton 5.13 installed, when I try running directly from steam, it'll show launching game, then running and all of a sudden back to play game; nothing happens
When tried Lutris's rockstar game launcher edition; it's social club won't go online
I don't wanna re-download the whole sh-- again using epic games launcher version

And these days, it's even easier.
Install GTA5, toggle on proton support in settings, launch the game. Boom, done.
You could grab Proton-GE, but I don't even bother. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and I've not seen and performance improvement with this particular game.
He didn't actually shoe the disable esync input in launch properties, but you probably don't need it anymore anyway.

I am trying this through wine. I have vega 8 inbuilt gpu, But when I start the game, it shows 512mb video memory in graphics setting. So I cannot change its resolution more than 800x600. Help! I am new to lutris.
Can you please make beginner guide video about lutris with examples and basics about what is DXVK and Esync and all that.

This did work for me on pop.os, but whenever I go indoors the fps drops from a locked 60 to a choppy af 15. I'm on the rockstar launcher. My rig is a gtx1080ti, i7 8700k, 16gig of ram at 2666, and I play in 4k on a 60inch tv. So I'm wondering if it's the 4k making it freak out?

GTA 5 works great in Arch-Linux in wine DXVK lutris only prob I got was
the keyboard stutter when press the keys, any fix for that be great or
have to use controller. and mods do work with limitations.

I have retail version. After install it says invalid wine prefix path after hitting play. Could I just download the launcher then run it directly with wine and the game itself like that without lutris?

Hi Chris. I bought it from social club when I was on windows. I installed Pop OS. Is there a work around to not to buy it again from steam? thanks
