As someone who grew up in and currently lives in NYC, but also went to school in the Bay Area, I can confirm that the buses and trains in San Francisco feel worse because of the fabric seats (I don't know if they've changed that since I was last there. NYC actually has a lot of new trains and buses now, so our stuff is probably newer than the BART stuff. But they are generally clean. The problem is the homeless people and the people who smoke on the trains.

Nvidia's Hairworks- is proprietary technology available only in binary format through GameWorks that was built on top of AMD's open source Tressfx. (Nvidia had a hard time optimizing Tressfx for games like tomb raider whenever it first came out. Lots of glitches and terrible performance)
Nvidia spent 5$ -developing- that technology and thousands in marketing.

The 1800X is not doing a 2080ti any justice. I've tested this. At the lowest, the 8700K at 5GHz+ will give the 2080ti enough room to hit its peak framerates. I have the eVGA 2080ti FTW3 Ultra 3slot monster (basically the best 2080ti, other than the K-NGP-N card) and that runs at 2. 250GHz with a 5. 3GHz 8700K and its right on par with my editing rigs 5. 2GHz 9900K (PO stepping.

RE -intel would disable pcie lanes on lower end hedt parts-
Not many people with 3950x's and 16 lanes are complaining about it, I have a 5820k with 28 lanes and it might come as a shock. but im not running my NVME drive with 3way SLI: O
My 990fx board has 32pcie lanes running 4xGTX480's, See how many people care.

well if your comparing what sells on newegg, amazon, best buy, etc, then it would be intel, i had to drive 438 miles one way to a Micro Center to get my i9-9900KS because it was SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE online and i was not in the mood to pay $999 to $1, 299 for one on ebay when Micro Center had it on sale for $569. 99

There are industries that can leverage the power of a 64/128 CPU. 3D modeling, effects artist's etc.
Like Gordon said, those that can actually benefit from a 3990X already know they could. It can cut time in half (depending on workload. Time is money and this will save those that can use it a lot of time.

I really want to have a great computer game with AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X cpu, but unfortunately I am in Iran and due to sanctions I can't buy anything from Amazon and of course I don't have enough money and the ability to buy. You are not here to see our situation. Uhhhh god' I have no chance

Well AMD doesn't want to pay Intel the licensing fees for Optane, just like Apple grabs your wallet and holds it hostage which is why i will never buy an Apple product, no ipad, ipod, iphone, imac, ibook, iwhatever, nope not unless Apple makes it so i can pop the side and add or upgrade parts

Bart is the worst, I can't believe for such a high tech area our transit is so bad. At least other major metropolitan area have a single transit authority, here it seems like every country is intentionally making it more difficult to take transit between counties just to spite each other.

The SSD vs HDD is so true, i have upgraded so many old laptops of coworkers and friends and they thought they got a new laptop, especially on some that i upgraded the RAM from 2 or 4 to 8GB or 16GB with a affordable Samsung 512GB SSD and it makes all the difference in the world
