30: 32 the 6th gen in particular that's when we've first seen a big difference in intel chips especially intergraded graphics too. It was 6th gen laptops that lead to my favor in the 2016 VAIO Z Flip which was and pretty much still is the closest thing we've ever seen to the G14. It embodied everything I'd wanted in a laptop. it made small powerful and portable real. Especially for the competition that year. And now that we have usbc charging on gaming laptops it's fully up to speed because the Z flip never had usbc but in 2016 usbc was still pointless.

Yes intel has the better latency and a bit better clockspeed, the fast cores on the 3900X and 3950X do help with frame times and make the game very smooth. I think people would be surprised how many cores can be utilized by the higher thread parts, in lots of games. But yes, I do also think that ryzen has a way to go and they should optimize that memory latency issue, with monolithic dies, whatever they can do(i. e. 3100X and 3300X 4 core chips as re rumored to be monolithic die)

Sorry guys i dont agree with your gaming analysis. Since newer AAA games use about 3+ cores, and with the new PS5/XBOX all future games are probably using 6+ cores the most logical option is ryzen. So if I am investing in $1, 000+ laptop that i plan to keep for at least 5 years, ryzen wins hands down. Having a -4% advantage in current games only, does not cut it for a 5 year investment. Intel needs to get their fabs issue fixed so that we can keep the cpu market competition.

15: 02 For the love of God, stop using R15! It isn't accurate anymore for modern CPU's and runs WAAAAAAY too fast. The single-thread advantage for Intel is MUCH smaller in the longer, more intense R20 test. Cinebench R15's single-thread test tells you very little about gaming performance, because the max boost time limits are hit hard in the latter but not the former. Unless you only play games for literally seconds at a time, R15 is too fast to tell you much of anything.

It seemed like you didn't take into the fact that the 8 core i7 comes in at a higher price point than the 6 core, so it's not really replacing the ninth gen 6 core.
Also people game for quite a while, and at a certain point those intel parts will not be able to maintain high clocks due to thermals and power.

Time Stamp: 16: 00 The only games still using only 4 cores are OLD ONES. Can you get away with using a quad core Yes if it has 8 threads. But that's even pretty much over with. Has anyone benched the 6700K n 7700K against 6 cores and 8 core CPU's in games they don't do well anymore, except in OLDER Games.

I would have liked to have heard something about the new Intel Chips no longer being unlocked for undervolting (due to the -Plundervolt- exploit. For thin&light laptops this was more of less pretty important to lower temps and increase performance or battery life.

Gordon, so if something doesn't matter you don't need to be transparent about it? And who decides it doesn't matter? Couldn't be stuffed checking but wondering if you have in the past complained about a desktop part because it used too much power and was too hot.

Great video but Gordon, I think you have to redetermine the meaning of smokes by all of the other parts (CPU's) with single core R20 score 504 (1. 43% higher is not that much. Let's get real. (That is related to one Intel part 496 and one AMD part 497.

Intel got sued and lost in court and had to pay AMD $1 billion for these -incentive- agreements. They were proven in court to be illegal. A similar case is still pending in Europe. Intel was found guilty again and Intel is still fighting the ruling.
