In today's episode we cover the newest Windows 11 security changes and how they affect PC builders at launch, the introduction of XFM memory that aims to replace the M. 2 form factor, the most recent Intel 12th-gen Alder Lake leaks, and of course we answer your questions live! eilegz: For me Windows 11 its a mess, a downgrade in every single aspect just look the start menu and taskbar regressions, Its like Windows 8 forcing people to their crappy UI, and the whole ryzen 1000 and intel 7th gen out of support its just bizarre. Its like vista and 8 had a baby and its called 11. I guess we have to wait to Winodws 11. 1 to fix all this crap and have a proper windows 11 release, they are rushing it to release it at october 5 and its incomplete, no android app support and most people feedback its ignored.

9: 00 we all know Mario is the best film/game tie in, that film is amazing!
Windows need to make a cut with 11, win 10 has till 2025.
If people dont like it they can instal Linux on there legacy gear, im sure that will happen.
Im not going to update anytime soon but if they relay do make windows secure then it has to happen, there's new big hacks every week!
If no one is willing to pay for security to stop the hacks then we just need Microsoft to suck it up and force it on people.
PS why is there no secure password manger in windows? boggles the mind that they dont even do that. They need something simple that forces secure passwords on the users.

And they will fold on security updates too. Remember MS tried cutting off Windows 2000 and XP machines from security but then headlines of TONS of Windows PCs that MS will not support for security patches infected on zombie networks, etc are worth so much negative press, the modest cost of deploying patches to -unsupported- machines is worth it.
This is bluster to push people to update their hardware but MS will support patches on anything that they allow Win11 to run on.

Usually organizations do not update to windows immediately. I work on a place that it is still some guys with Windows 7 machines. It takes long time because at the beginning companies do not have the new Windows on image that they can deploy to the new machines. Second thing it takes some times to replace laptops. I currently still use an Skylake Laptop, I hope soon my work decide to upgrade it soon. Only four cores really sucks compared with six or eight.

Given that the fresh install on older hardware for windows 11 is an option, just not the update route to windows 11, the no updates may fall under the same duality of patch no patch where the updates will become available via a manual at your own risk patch for older hardware rather than the auto update feature and won't include any old unsupported CPU specific security updates in that patch. Kind of going back old school updating via downloaded patch.

I have Windows 11 Running on my eVGA 680i SLi rev. 2 board and 3. 6GHz+ Q6600 GO from 2007-2008. With a 1050ti, it still runs great.
Intel was glue'n cores-N-chips together way back in 2007 with the Q6600 in the Core2Quad series.
By the way, Alder Lake will be crazy expensive. 12900K is $870 tray price with the 12600K hitting $400. The leaks from an e-tailer already hit the hackers automated steal-mail.

hey gordon stop simping for ms, i dont want to have to run in a hypervisor/vm they have said its optional now, and here you are asking for it to be enforced i havnt had a virus in my life and had a pc since a 286 and have been on the internet since 1994 and dont run any av not even windows defender its the user thats the problem not the os, how about you push for a driving license equivalent to operate a pc.

Old PCs can run Windows 10 until 2025. These people should be able to upgrade to new hardware by then. 8yrs on your old ass hardware is long enough. Everyone else shouldn-t suffer because people are on potato PCs. Some People get left behind when we move forward, get over it. If these people can-t afford a new PC every 8yrs, too bad. Modern experiences and features aren-t for you.

Something really cool, Team Cherry, the developer of Hollow Knight, delivered everything it promised and more. Now 5 years later they even implemented Vulkan for Hollow Knight. Awesome! OpenGL mostly worked fine but you had an occasional stutter, once in a gaming session of a few hours. Vulkan just is better on Linux, for every game. Assuming that you have a graphics card.

I have windows 10 and I only use defender and I've had many years of great security so kinda don't get windows 11. All Microsoft are gonna do is push windows users to android Linux of some kind. My i7 ivery bridge is working strong and my other older pcs all lasted 10 to 12 years. gutted windows 11 can't be installed like normal.
