Gordon, one question which I would have asked Laura: why did they choose to use only one chiplet for the GPU for this product? We know that they have a patent to use more than one chiplet for the GPU but makes it appear to the operating that there only is one because only chiplet is the 'boss' and divides the load over itself and the other chiplet. She could probably talk about that: current product and that patent is public knowledge (publicly filed, anyone can see it), it would be a good question to see where AMD might be going. Maybe the next time.

AMD is throwing a HUGE bone to board partners. They left a lot of room for board partners for extra power and higher clocks. While they stick to higher power efficiency. They can have it both ways. AMD reference is efficient while the partner editions are way more powerful but not as efficient. That also leaves a lot of meat on the bone for partners cards to charge more for their designs.....which is exactly why board partners hate NVIDIA.

Also, because someone mentioned arc and how some games dip to 9fps. I had this experience on my system. And the cause the game not seeing the arc as a gpu and it runs on the integrated graphics. Example, Sea of Thieves runs terribly. but if I disable in device manager the radeon gpu, all of a sudden Sea of Thieves runs fine on it. But the game wants to default to the integrated graphics.

As a consumer, NVidia hasn't been a good to consumers for a long time. This will be the cycle that I will be buying a top GPU. Though there are no reviews as of this time, Radeon will get my dollar in my new rig. Though it is 1000 which is a lot of money it's 600 less than NVidia and to me not worth that pricing delta. AMD has done the impossible!

Sometimes Gordon's opinions are a bit bizarre. Why would you need AMD to show graphs beating the 3080ti? They showed that the 7900xtx is from 50 to 70 percent faster than the 6950xt. The 6950xt is already slightly faster than the 3080ti. So, logic dictates that if it's even just 50% faster it still would clobber the 3080ti.

I think they're holding off in exact numbers, just so the other company can't react until it's too late. Also, probably squeezing more juice out of it in the last month.
I also liked the end when they all sounded like demons.

the pricing looks amazing but I can't help but feel wary of the performance now. i'm very curious how close the XTX can get in raster compared to the 4090 at this price or if it's really just more aimed at beating the 4080

love watching you guys hang out. These gpu's look interesting. Does amd link still suck? I use moonlight daily and just won't purchase if I can't easily and seamlessly stream my desktop or games to tv and laptops.
