Win 11 - If I wanted a MacOS device I would buy one, I want an OS that is Windows, Microsoft needs to just understand Apple at the rate they are going will eventually write themselves out of the PC Desktop side of business, M series perfect for Laptops that rely on a battery(not so much for a desktop where people just need performance, but their business will fallout when Solid State Batteries become a thing and the constraints or limits on mobile power are solved and you can have a 3080 level GPU last 2-5 hours on battery and takes 5 mins to charge.
NVidia on Arm - Intel has GPU and CPU, AMD has GPU and CPU, Nvidia only has GPU, so TBF if you want actual competition this deal should be allowed to go through, the Governments are just helping maintain a duopoly in the CPU space. What does it really matter just make them make concessions where needed like they do every other major acquisition, that is all their is to it, no need for political grandstanding.

I have a Ryzen 3 2200G (2019); i5-2530M (2011); Phenom II X4 B97 (2009) and a Pentium 4 HT (2003. Officially I can't run Windows 11 on any of these PCs.
Fortunately when I retired 1-1-11, I replaced Windows Vista with Ubuntu 10. 04 LTS. Since that date I only have Windows in Virtualbox VMs.
I'm a collector, so I have all Windows releases from 1987 Windows 1. 04 to 2021 Windows 11 Pro and it includes the 3 NT releases from the nineties. The only Windows VM I still use frequently, is Windows XP Home to play the wma copies of my old LPs and CDs.
Nowadays I only buy -$200 off-lease laptops, they are 5 years old and I use them till they are 10 years old. So next year I should replace my 2011 Sandy Bridge laptop. Maybe I wait a few years more to get a better performance increase. My Dec 2011 HP Elitebook 8460p laptop still works quite acceptable with its new 2TB HDD.

Why do guys with old HW want 11? It's a bigger number than 10? Anyone with new HW can't have an O/S made for new HW features because hurt feelings? Do little babies feelings rule the PC world? Will they do a work around to slow their system down to run 11 anyway? 5 years ago I watched Linux Distro demonstrations on utube. Some guy with an old 4 core laptop would run Windows and set up a VM with 2 cores and 4GB of ram running Linux. They would cry if the O/S ISO was bigger than 2GB and give viewers the slowest damn demo of linux they could. I suggested that we get one out of a 100 distros made just for newer HW. The comments section went nuts. NO. Guys running old junk demand all 100 distros are for them.

Dude. Mr. B. Aka Captain Gurgles. Take this with a grain of salt. Can you not drink that carton of milk or at least clear your throat before each Full Nerd episode when your speaking. Thanks. It's just more tolerable when voices are cleared as some of us have conditions too listening to what sounds like a combination of Chewy and a dying fish I imagine. When mucus is lingering in the throat like an oyster slug dangling on the tonsils please clear that mess out. The only issue I have with Windows 11 is you can't drag and drop to the taskbar. But the start menu is a non-issue. Start8 was a must have program for Windows 8, but Start11 is not necessary. You can move the Start Menu back to the left of the taskbar in the OS itself. You can also pin what you want to the start menu. The only thing you can't do is create groups. It's no where near the usability fiasco of Windows 8. Some of my machines are on 11 and some are on 10 and there's no difference to me with the Start Menu.

It was okay for him to buy a graphics card company or two.
It's okay for Google to dominate most of the market.
It's okay for Amazon to dominate online shopping for the most part.
But it's not okay for NVIDIA a GPU company to also acquire a CPU company.
All they have to do when they buy the company is to sign contracts with the ones who are complaining and say we're going to keep your end the same for whatever 15 or 20 years.
Regulations are fine but the problem is regulators have too much power.

My Pc meets & exceeds Windows 11 hardware upgrade requirements, but I see no notification of Windows 11 being available via Windows 10 updates. Anyway even if it was available right now I wouldn't be interested for now. Windows 11 has many issues and bugs in it even though Microsoft keeps patching it. like its scheduler has issues with Intels new p core e core cpus and Ryzens cpus too, so great for gamers. Nah not yet.

That shirt is not a sweater, even if it's ugly. Jack in the Box is a great place if you like hair on your burger. I also have a theory on the -steam survey-, It's a thing you can opt into or out of. I think advanced users who tend to buy better stuff are smarter and don't let valve spy on the system. I use 4k and they do not have my pc in the survey.

loving my yoga 9i 1tb, 16gig leather glass lenova laptop, advertised at 1799 mostly selling between 1599 1nd 1499 on given months, i got mine on a lenova flash sale for 1000 uk pounds and 200 pounds baclk. altogether paid 800uk pounds so happy at this laptop a laptop id happily paye 1499 for.

I suspect if Nvidia buys ARM, prices of everything else will increase substantially because now they would have to pay all future tech licenses to Nvidia, and at the end, consumers are the ones who would pay a percentage of those licenses in the final product.
