I'm so sorry to bug you again...but as a 47 year old mom of two boys, I would love to know more about the world of technology than I do. I'm always asking them for help and getting no where. I was crazy enough to buy the Samsung Galaxy 6s edge plus (geez what a name). I should have known it was more technology than I needed. however, now that I have it, I would really like to know which apps are necessary for my limited use. I'm taking up space with stuff I have no idea how to use, and it was loaded with tons of useless apps I can't remove. Basically, can you direct me to a list or something that you have posted that will help guide me through the tech world? I've even searched smartphones for dummies and it's still above my head... I'm wanting ways to read books free, watch the classic old movies (Bette Davis...), and text. That's literally all I do with this monster phone...oh! and music! I know there is a better way to get a music list than just downloading YouTube music videos. Sorry for the rambling... Great source of help, thanks!!!

I noticed you mention wifi analyzer in your video. Another great app for IT support is Fing. Fing will show you all the computers, devices and their IP adresses and a lot of other info about each device on the network you are connected to. Very handy app. In another video you mentioned WPS office for Windows And Mac. It is also available for Android. I play a little weekend guitar and I use the Gstrings guitartuner. In the olden times before the internet and smartphones this was called a chromatic tuning fork, was a small electronic device and it did cost a pretty penny. Nowadays you can get it for free on your smartphone. :) Those are among the few apps that I use.... Oh, and before I forget it: You mentioned an app that shows you the way to cheap gas. The FindToilet app will show you the nearest public rest room when your kids need to deposit the sodapop and snacks they rented while you were busy pumping cheap gas. Also good for the youngsters who are on their way home from the wild frat parties. ;)

Have you heard of this app called Facebook? Seriously, I use Swype for my keyboard, turbo VPN for public WiFi spots, Eventbrite for ideas and tickets for events near me, WiFi File Transfer for easy upload and download of files, Super Backup to backup call logs, contacts, sms conversations and calendars, Citymapper to take public transportation in my city or other cities I'm visiting, MyPhoneExplorer in order to get MPE Notes, a collection of as many individual notes you want to create and it's searchable, and for a weather app, try Yowindow: it's a fun app unlike any other weather app I've seen.

All these apps seem great, but Duolingo is terribly oversimplified. It doesn't teach you a new language, but helps you remember words which is far from the same. Memrise on the other hand is a fantastic general learning app that specialises in languages. It's quick and easy like Duolingo, but goes into context, grammar, spelling, and even has recorded locals so you can get the difference from a digital pronunciation to a voice-on-the-street. It also has a cool spaceship planet hopping theme so check it out :)

I use the GO SMS , GO Launcher, GO Keyboard, and Go Locker. for mine. Great for backgrounds, themes, etc. I have them for my Android Phone. I use Duolingo from my Android, Kindle, Windows Tablet, and Windows Laptop. I also use Grammarly for my editing needs, as well as Ginger. I use Khan Academy as well. Software wise, I use Draft (online editor like Word but without the pretty distractions.), WordWeb (free thesaurus and dictionary that works with Word and the net.

Have you tried Mango for languages? That is what I use and I have learned to speak Spanish and German in a very short time. It is not just words, but whole sentences and explanations for things that are different from the way English does things. Please check it out I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.....you can also use it on your computer through your library and offers over 70 languages.

Agree on Weather Underground , but right next to it on my screen is MyRadar , which is probably THE most useful weather app I have ever used. It is basically Google Maps for rainfall and or snowfall. You can get a synthesis of all available weather radar scans over the entire US, and zoom in or out as you like. MyRadar also available for Windows.

Check out SHUSH ringer restore app. It adds a timer to your ringer setting to auto restore it when you silence it. This is especially useful during times when you're at a meeting or something and have to silence the phone. I've missed important calls and messages in the past cause I forgot to turn my ringer back on, but never again with this app!

The best add-free app... Google Docs. I don't install apps that have advertisements. Sadly enough there are some great apps that look really appealing, and I would potentially pay money for one that didn't display ads, but many don't offer their app to be ad free.

SwiftKey is own by Microsoft? that makes sense. I love the automatic typing translation feature, but I thought it was a bit weird that used the Bing translator, and recently added a mandatory search bar... also with Bing searches
