I can't narrow it down to just one favorite, let alone my favorite of all time. With that being said here are a handful of films released within the past few years that I consider to be essential viewing material. 1. The Witch 2. The Blackcoats Daughter 3. Split 4. The Killing of a Sacred Deer 5. Mayhem 6. Super Dark Times, 7. The Green Room 8. Goodnight Mommy

It s NOT that hard....everything is a sequel or reuses 1 of 3 or 4 tired old plots.. But John Dies at the End is fantastic and deserves more attention. The Host is a different type of monster flick and Was a relief to see. Train to Busan Was indeed a fresh look at zombies. Dale and Tucker is hilarious. But Saw has worn out it's welcome.

In no particular order... Misery The Others Dawn of the Dead(new version) Day of the Dead(1985) Halloween I and II It Follows 30 Days of Night Trick 'r Treat Ju-on the Grudge(Japanese original) Ringu / The Ring The Fly(1986) They Live The Visit Return of the living Dead just a few of my go-to's on a lazy, stormy Sunday afternoon...

I was hoping 'Odd Thomas' (6.9 on IMDB) would have been listed. If you liked 'The Frighteners', you'd like this movie. 'Clown' is creepy as hell. A certain bathroom scene is hilariously memorable. Not really horror, but still worth the watch is 'The Perfect Host'. Show this one after 'The Invitation' for a nice double feature.

Just snapping here but omg hush was not that frigging good! And one huge thing that pissed me off in the movie is how at the beginning shes in the kitchen and could feel someone on the porch before they even knocked..then later on someones being MURDERED on the same porch her standing there again yet doesnt feel that?? Done..

1922 is pretty good and it's slow burning and atmospheric which is nice but I feel like if it was a little more intense and had a little more gore it would've made it even better. Hush is also amazing probably one of my favorite horror movies of all time. And let's not forget the Conjuring because that movie was awesome

2 that I think should be on the list, the perfect host and Darling. I was happy that you had a comedy horror and the most recent of dark comedy is the one with Ryan, can't get the 2 and their last names but he talks to his dog and cat, if anyone loves dark comedy it is so good !

If you get the chance to please watch the ritual. It's a great movie but surely not something to show kids under 12 unless there familiar with gore. Basically about a group of hikers who take a trip and go of path and find somethi f they may regret.

Saw is horror? Its more a thriller or just torture porn.... not much of Horror at all, to me horror always has something supernatural like ghost or monsters, I great one is It Follows holy crap that is a creepy movie, gave me so many nightmares
