Oh that number 3 option here ...... It took me 5 years to find out that there is a performance mode in my windows vista !! I turned that on, and voila !! Maybe I was a moron ; but honestly asking, should the settings be like this ? It is like not choosing to run because you can strain your legs !!??!! IMHO, the system should run on performance mode by default. Then, when the battery crosses a threshold, either the user or windows itself should turn the power saver or balanced mode on. It is not difficult to do so. Especially with modern Li-ion batteries on laptops. For those people who run a professional junk-cleaning software on their systems (like me), remember NOT to use the registry cleaning ever. It may save you some memory and give a minor speed-gain; but it may damage your system permanently. I have damaged mine, thrice, to realize that it was the registry cleaner that caused the damage. I had to bear a hefty amount to recover the system and get my data back. Registry in any windows system is extremely sensitive. If you have damaged or duplicate registries, the best option is to leave it to windows for handling. Here is another advice that I can give everyone along with all these steps listed here. And that is about disk defragmentation. Normally, windows does that automatically. But, when you store a lot of data on your hard disk, like big files of movies, the automatic defragmentation cannot stop fragmentation. Bad sectors pile up, bit by bit, over time. I've seen from experience that after about 3 years, these bad sectors harm system performance significantly. To avoid this, one can not to choose saving movies on a hard disk. But that is not an smart option because of the humongous sizes of hard disks nowadays at very cheap prices. One can store anything he or she likes. A prudent option would be to use programs like diskeeper from condusiv technologies. The program(diskeeper) is about 40 for three systems, and is extremely efficient. Systems with diskeeper will run noticeably faster and smoother that systems without it. I'm using it for years now. Even on new systems with SSDs, SSDkeeper (diskeeper equivalent of SSDs) brings performance improvement. I hope the above info will help people improve their windows experience. Thanks for bringing this topic and video to the fore, Techgumbo !!

thank you for this tutorial... others method which I find useful, for example: #1. change wallpaper to solid one color really speed up the computer response time. #2. disable system restore. Background backup process slows down the computer, so disable it #3.. increasing RAM and using solid state drive really speed up the computer a lot #4.. also, I use FolderChanger to organize my folders to help me find my documents and files easily and quickly. Google search FolderChanger

This might involve de-installing windows 10, but my brother, an it professional, says remove Windows 10 OS where you can install another Operating System called Linux which isn't bloated thus saving you space on your hard drive plus gaining memory for RAM to boot! Also, no one mentions that since Windows is bloated, running a Linux OS will make your computer / laptop last longer.

another way to improve system speed is to go into power options advanced settings and set the 'minimum processor frequency' to 100%. this will force your cpu to run at full clock speed at all times. as long as you have a decent cpu cooler to keep temps in check this will noticeably improve all-around performance

It is often recommended to upgrade your harddisk from HD to SSD. It will increase the speed of most pc's. But not always! I had a netbook, with Atom processor and 2 GB Ram. Replacing the HD to SSD did not have any effect, even not after a clean install of Windows. So not every machine will work as new with an SSD!

Thank you for the videos... I have a question... recently the glary utilities detected at the startup a server called Input Personalization Server , I was wondering if its safe to disable it at the startup. As far as I know this server is for when you use the screen keyboard and that. Thanks.

You forgot a major one. Go to Services , scroll down until you re in the S category/area, and turn off Superfetch . It s supposed to increase performance after time, but it uses an Insane amount of CPU performance. When you turn it off, you will immediately notice a big performance boost.

Ram doesn't increase overall performance, it only increases access times. You're car isn't driving faster, it just starts up better. It has nothing to do with the speed of the vehicle on the road, just how fast it starts in your driveway. No different than an SSD.

Another use full tip that many seem to forget is to get rid of icons on your desktop. Whether it's pictures or documents move them to another folder. Valuable RAM is wasted on displaying these desktop icons in the background.
