Thank you for yet another video. Apple made iCloud with online office free for all too, even to Windows, Android ( if you dont use the mobile version in you browser ) and Linux users. They offer more than 5Gb of space for free like MS and their Onedrive MS . I found out while hackintoshing . Now, as far as storing passwords online - and I dont want to go all tin foil hattery here - I dont live in the country where the LastPass HQ and servers are situated, which is supposedly in France and Washington. Their servers could be in Iceland for all I know, though their main office HQ is in Washington. What that means is, the data I store on their servers are subject to the laws and regulations of another government and different laws and regulations than the ones in my country. I find that somewhat problematic. Just something to bear in mind, not just for passwords but for storing online data in general. Who controls your data? I only mention this because the rules and regulations of Facebook quite often clashes with the rules of my culture.

Do people actually upload video files to convert or edit them? Sure on YouTube it makes sense, because YouTube is probably the destination of your video's anyways, so it's either uploading before or after editing, but uploading and editing video files so you can get it back as a 480p video? That sounds like something only grandparents use as they don't understand the difference. And google play music is only available if you have a creditcard. So if you're Dutch or a child you're better of putting your music files on Dropbox. You can just Upload and Stream from the Browser on pc. On Android / iOS device you might need a special app to listen though. And I bet you can upload less files. Not hating, good tips otherwise and in some circumstances sites will help somebody out, but sites like WeVideo are not gonna 'replace' desktop software.

Thanks for the vid. I was not aware of Prezi, but will check it out. I have used another web based presentation software, in place of PowerPoint, at www.haikudeck.com. Haiku Deck doesn't have anywhere near the number or type of features of PowerPoint, but that's not necessarily a bad thing because: A.) far too many Powerpoint presentation creators think they have to use every single feature. Most of the time they end up looking cheap and detract from the message. And along those same lines, B.) too many PowerPoint presentations are information overload - because it's there. Haiku Deck was created to reduce the information overload of presentations. I would be interested in a TechGumbo opinion on Haiku Deck (assuming it hasn't already been done.) Thanks again for an informative vid.

Most of these arent really a good replacement if you work with big files and/or have a bad internet connection, not to mention being able to do things offline and on the go can be more productive. Also using a site to check if files are malicious is a bad practice considering its probably already affected your computer or when you are choosing the file, you accidentally double click and execute the file. Best line of defence would to have a decent antivirus that picks up and handles them before you even get to look at them

This is all software for suckers. These services will all be 1.) storing copies of your data and 2.) collecting massive amounts of data about you that they will sell to 3rd parties. Use your own software people, on your own computers, running libre software. If you use a non-free SAAS service that you aren't paying anything for, its because YOU are the product that they are selling. Don't be suckers people!

I've used google play, it came on my tablet, which there were some file types it forgot how to play with an update it had a while back, so I had to rip all my music off the CDs (anyone else remember those things?) again to be able to listen to them... also (least in my opinion) the previous versions were much easier to use... I'm quite UN-impressed with it as a whole... hard to beat the price though.

www.clipperz.com - 100% free, opensource password site that I've been using for many years, with several accounts. Has an active community, owner is easily contactable and it's good for portable devices. They moved servers to Iceland after govt. intervention. You can also download your whole profile as a locked image then use it offline from a thumb drive.

Microsoft also provides free, online versions of their Office software. No need to look for an alternative to Office - just set up a Microsoft account login and you're good to go, all available through the OneDrive website. Last time I checked, the online Office apps provided more editing features than the Google apps.

I really enjoy watching your videos. Because of your other website videos I now have a neat websites folder with a lot of those sites. Also got a couple of the programs from the other videos. It's all really useful info that you put in your videos and I can't wait to see more from you. Keep it up! :D
