If you're like most bodybuilders or athletes that are working out hard then you are likely taking bodybuilding supplements, vitamins and nutrients to ensure your muscles get everything they need. The problem is, the supplement industry is shady to say the least. In this video, I show you some of the worst secrets of the bodybuilding supplement industry and how you may not exactly be getting everything you think you might in the supplements that you're taking. From the amount of the ingredients that you think you're getting to the purity of the ingredients in the supplement formulas, you are going to think twice after watching this video on the supplement industry before you take your next pill, vitamin, powder or shake. With the ATHLEAN-Rx supplements, I made it a point to try and address all of the things that I feel tarnished my experience with nutrition and sports supplements from a young age. From the role of the FDA and government in the regulation of what we take to the methods which bodybuilding supplement manufacturers use to skew the amounts of the raw materials they claim are in their product. I address them all. It's time to show you the scary truth about the bodybuilding supplement industry so you can make an informed consumer decision before you spend your next dime, or worse, take an unhealthy supplement. For more details about athlean-rx head to Sage: I work at a supplements store and I can see why you say all this, but from a guy who has done his own research I can say that I feel most people in the supplement industry do have at least some knowledge of what they're doing. The more I sell does not mean any more money in my pocket so I like to tell people the truth and sell them what they truly need. I have never once been asked to sell more of any brand name by anyone and I always recommend things that I feel worked for most and for myself. What you're saying is fair all I'm saying is this is how the sterotypes of supplements and the people who sell them get started

My cousin hit the protein powders and the gym. He still had a crap diet. A few years later he went to the doc because he was irritable all the time and loosing his hair at an excellerated rate. Turns out his estrogen was through the ROOF! Almost all these powders use soy because it's cheap - but loaded full of plant based estrogen and highly acid forming. I think they use it for the bloating out effect it has too - giving an artificial sense of mass building. I know not a lot of people won't like hearing this, but using a plant based protein like Hemp/Spirullina/pea will always be much easier for the body to use. Most veg is around 8% protein anyway, UNTIL you destroy it by cooking. If you don't keep in a good alkaline state, your body will sacrifice the calcium from you bones to buffer out the acidity - not to mention you potassium would be lowered too. The body will recognize this, and will be reluctant to put on more mass upon a weakened frame. Spirulina is around 80% protein, easy to process into body, alkaline forming and loaded full of nutrients (like B vits) we often miss form cooked (AND MICROWAVED) foods. Trueley an ancient magic superfood that you can take in tab form too so you don't have to taste it. Try it. You will never go wrong with complete nutrition. Just because protein was the first nutrient discovered didn't make it the only important one. Industry has a lot to answer for on this one. Though lots of research and experimenting on myself, there is no way known I'll ever think of meat or dairy as a heath food by any stretch of the imagination. Dairy is so acid forming IT IS one of the worst offenders in the cause of calcium deficiency next to alcohol. Research Acidic blood vs alkaline blood. The truth shall set you free.

im a 20 yo student. there are only those small grocery shop nearby me. i eat spaghetti everyday. and that the most healthy and cheapest food i can find in that shop in my oppinion (there are tuna can, egg and bean too. but it consider quite expensive to me) lel. my supplement is only 10 lbs mass gainer. that are used for 3-4 month so i can afford it. i know mass is bs but without it i can't keep my weight.
my body stat for now: (approximate stat as i dont even have proper equipment to measure and some were measured quite long agoxD)
85kg, around 15% bf (measured with the clipper on whole body, 175+feet
ps: without mass gainer my weight will drop to around 65kg with the lifestyle im having now -. - even i eat 2 pack instant noodles every night.

'Is this going to save me money' Assuming you were getting the 24 grams of protein in each shake from normal foods before the supplement, yeah it'd save you a lot of money over time. However most people that are just starting out with weight lifting might not have a high protein diet they're used to in which case this is not only cheaper, but a much easier change to their eating habits than making themselves cook a lot more meat and eggs than they're used to. It also gives them caloric breathing room since there's much less calories per gram of protein in a protein shake than an animal based food which can give someone that much sought after space for dessert without messing up their diet too much.

Thanks for being honest. My body's ability to digest food was compromised for a year after I started drinking whey. My food would literally come out the other end undigested. I had to get a colonoscopy and an endocopy bc the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. I went to the gym to make gains and ended up loosing about 10lbs (so I was 110lbs. Now I can't drink milk anymore, even if I wanted to because I will literally get sick for days, even if I'm eating a small amount. I really wish I would have been careful from the start.

Hey Jeff I-ve been really interested and invested in trying to improve my gut health now that I-m 46. I eat a lot of pork and especially chicken. It-s really challenging to find good sources of meats that don-t have antibiotics in them and it hard to trust the tricky labeling. They say things like no added antibiotics ever and I feel that the organic labeling is more misleading than it may seem. Anyway I-m curious about the quality of protein that you use in your products as far as my gut is concerned.

those training since the 90s (like me) have read all the websites and bb magazines half of which were filled with ads selling pre workouts etc, i took loads of them, from different companies promising the world. sure I got a 'little psychological edge, but 20 years later, now I know, eat food, supplement with the (your own) research(ed) tried and proven for your specific gut and body type protein, drink more water and sleep more, eat organic meat (if you can afford it) you won't go far wrong

I have a bigggggg question. I have been working out for almost 3 years now, this last two months i stopped going for personal reasons. I did went a few times but its not the same. I did see that I lost a lot of muscle and may be my strength its not the same anymore. I wanna go back again and gain everything I lost and more so I would like to know what exercises at home and at the gym I can do so I can process my goals.

I wish I could tell if my supplements are even doing anything, I'm getting bigger muscle and losing fat, but I've also made a lot of dietary changes and workout changes at the same time I started these supplements, 2 weeks I lost 7 lbs, but I also lost 20 lbs the month before that just by cutting sodas and candy and all that crap, idk if everything is helping prigess, or if the suppliments are just wasting money
