When people ask me how to get a 6 pack, it's always hard to give them just one answer. This is because getting six pack abs is about much more than just doing ab exercises or knowing the right ab workout! As you'll see in this video, beyond having solid nutrition (which is necessary for stripping away the body fat hiding your abs) you will also need to consider the difference between direct and indirect ab training. Direct ab training is what you would associate with your regular ab workouts. Performing sets of specific exercises geared at training your rectus abdominus, transverse and obliques. Beyond that however is something that I believe is far more important. This is the amount of indirect ab workouts that you get each week. What I mean by this is how much are your abs working during the rest of your workouts? I can tell you that if you spend a great deal of your time in a gym using machines, then your answer is not enough. In fact, even if you're doing direct ab work 7 days a week, you still won't be able to overcome a lack of sufficient indirect ab training. Take a look at this sample ab workout to get an idea of just how much your abs can be worked into your every day workouts. You should see that learning how to get a 6 pack fast has much more to do with your complete approach to training than what you do 5 minutes at a time! For a complete workout program geared at getting you a six pack fast, be sure to head to to get the exact program used by today's top pro athletes known for their abs. The ATHLEAN-X Training System is letting regular guys train like pro athletes every time they workout!

Been watching several videos you have done and today i finally decided to try some things you talk about. Did shoulder press on a machine been stuck at 60 lbs per arm tighten my core and chest and holy cow i did 90lbs with just activating core and chest then did best i could to focus on shoulder while chest and core activated well it helped and as crazy as it sounds helped a whole lot more than i realized my abs and obliques feel like i worked them longer by doing this than the ab excersices i was doing im 46 trying to lose the love handles and fat on abs these methods also helped a bit more with barbell curls and tricep press looking forward to seeing what you program is all about. Jeff first off enjoying all of your videos. Anyway at gym I saw some folks doing Battle Rope exercises? anyway I had not heard of them before so I asked. I was told they are an excellent strenght and cardio exercise. The task looked simple enough all you had to do was hold some rope in your hand and wave them up and down for up to a minute and you were good to go. I was toast after about 40 secs. Have you ever considered a video on this type of exercise.

meet your caloric needs if your bulking
if you notice youre really putting on a lot of fat (along with muscle hopefully) then lower it by like 100 or so, try this out for a while and just change and twist your diet untill it is perfect for you, because what might be good for someone with a similar build as you might not be good, or really ideal, for your body

I been doing the pullups with my legs in front rather than crossed behind my back and it makes a huge difference. I like how it works my entire core rather than just the actual abs. Close grip pullups are also good since it's basically a plank the whole time and the closer grip is harder so you can't cheat and go real fast.

Hi Jeff, thank you for ALL your wonderful and inspiring training aids and videos. I love them ALL. And thank you a lot for the shortened intros - no bull and right to the point. (I have a sh. internet connection and appreciate that you get right to the core of the matter without the extended intro. Keep it up Coach!

Hey Jeff, I was wondering if I, a 15 year old very active football player, should be taking bolthouse farms protein plus shake. My main concern is the soy it contains. Is that a problem, and if so how much is to much, what are the problems, and what are the pros. I'd really appreciate the feed back!

Jeff I know you are a big advocate of high grade omega 3 cod liver oil and I too have been recommending it to my clients by a doctor recently pointed out that there have been new studies published which state that it raises a males chance of getting prostate cancer. Is there any truth in this?

if you are trying to get stronger and build muscle you need to exceed your daily calorie use. I would say force the food down, its not going to harm you. And for the future try and spread it more throughout the day. Have something like 3 big meals and 2 or 3 small snack meals.
