I'd like to quickly give you guys a run down on how you get get rid of excess loose skin after losing weight. First you have to understand that there are a couple factors that determine how well or how fast your skin can bounce back after losing a lot of weight. Genetics as usual will play a big role in determining how well your skin adjusts. How fast your skin got stretched in the first place, so how fast you gained weight is very important too. If you gained a ton of weight incredibly fast chances are that your skin will have a harder time returning back to its original shape. Another factor is how long you carried the extra weight. If you were pregnant, gained some weight for a couple of months, and lost it right after, your skin may be completely fine. However, if you carried this weight for years you may not be so lucky. The last factor is your age. The older that you get the less elastic your skin will become. Regardless of your particular situation there are things that you can do to help tighten up your skin and have less of that saggy look. First before you do anything for your skin you want to make sure that your body fat percentage is low enough. Many people that still have more body fat to lose, immediately assume that their excess body fat is excess skin. A good body fat percentage for men is 14-17% and for women a good range is 21 - 24% When you know your body fat percentage is low enough, and what you are dealing with is actually loose skin, one of the number one ways to tighten up is by building more muscle. When you lose a lot of weight chances are high that you will lose some muscle mass as well. If there's little muscle mass under the skin the skin will look flabby and unshapely. So start weight training if you already have loose skin, and if you're in the process of losing weight, it would be a good idea to weight train the whole way through, as it could really help your skin look tighter at the end of your weight loss transformation. Supplementing during and after losing weight can help. Supplement with vitamin c, omega 3, zinc, and collagen, collagen helps make skin more elastic. Even though your body naturally produces collagen as we age collagen levels will decrease. Drinking a lot of water can really help with skin health as well. Try to aim for at least a gallon per day. Body wraps for loose skin waste of time and complete scam. There are certain lotions and soaps that you can get that can be very useful for restoring the proper elasticity of your skin. Make sure that when you are buying lotion that it contains Collagen, retinol, and vitamins a, e and c. Keep in mind that these lotions may help, but I'm not so sure that they are scientifically verified. Avoid soaps that contain sulfate and also avoid chlorine on your skin as much as you can. Anything that will dry and damage the skin will wind up hurting the skins ability to bounce back. Chlorine will dry the skin, so if you swim in a chlorinated pool a lot make sure you take a shower immediately afterwords. Smoking is another no no. Smoking will not only harm your lunges, but it also decreases the skins elasticity. If you smoke all the time you wind up damaging the skin as it tries to repair itself and tighten up. Drinking alcohol is also not great for your skin to recover. The last resort after you've tried every thing else is obviously surgery. Remember to Be patient. You can lose over 100lbs and still have your skin return back to normal. However if you have a massive amount of skin left over surgery may be the only way. Before you start cutting and removing skin there are some non invasive procedures available. Fractional laser or radio frequency treatments are two options that you can talk to your dermatologist about

After seeing a couple of videos about this (including yours) I feel a bit disappointed. I plan to lose (and am already losing) maybe around 150lb total. It's a no-carb diet. At this weight it's a guarantee I'll get excess skin (though I'll deal with excess fat first) when I reach my final target. I'm breaking it down into goals and rewards.
Now, what I'm disappointed about is that when I was a kid, pretty much the only exercise I enjoyed doing was swimming. Once I reach my target I want to start swimming again nearly daily. I know it would be hard enough to get into the pool with the excess skin/fat in the first place, but I think even if I showered right after, going that often might hinder or ruin skin tightening progress. So maybe there's no point in swimming after all.

I would want some more information about myself if it's possible. I am 28 years old I am currently pregnant and I went from 229 lb to 227 lb that's when I found out that I was pregnant now I have a lot of hanging fat from my arms but how do I retract my skin how do I tighten my skin and tone my muscles in my arms. I kept escalating my weight and then I would decrease my weight and then I would escalate my weight again throughout the years I would die it and then I wouldn't I it this last time around when I lost so much weight it was because I didn't eat for about a month-and-a-half any time that I felt like I was hungry for work I would just drink water throughout the day so at this point what is it exactly that I can do?

Thank you very much for this. I was getting really frustrated wading through the BS videos on this topic. You are very nice to look at, your presentation and delivery were well organized and you made useful suggestions. I am 62 and I have about 180 pounds to lose. I'm trying to lose it slow and steady and start an exercise program to lessen the effects. I eat a lot of bone broth and my diet is a lot better than it used to be. I would like to see another video on which specific exercises are helpful, especially for under the arms.

I watched a video by Dr. Berg in which he stated collagen production decreases as we age because the hydrochloric acid diminishes and we do not digest and absorb protein as well and cannot produce the collagen we used to. He was discussing collagen supplements and stated adding apple cider vinegar before meals would be helpful. Also, I have done the radio frequency (Thermage - Cool Touch) treatments and they are very helpful, although very expensive)

With weight loss green store tea, I witnessed my cousin overcome her obesity. It was really inspiring to see it play out for a several years. It wasn't until she started taking this that the weight loss kicked into high gear. I remember her crying after learning that she lost almost 60 pounds. It was a great day in her life most likely. I'm glad this helped her.

What a lot of people don't realise is that the skin actually renews itself every couple of years. My friend had a lot of excess after losing 7stones in a year and she wanted surgery but I told her to hold off on it and started training her. Guess what? It is gone! Muscle growth definitely offsets it too, it's like filling up an empty package with good stuff.

Hey brother, thanks for the great content. Quick quick question. What's your thoughts on 'Gotu Kola'? I've only heard of it a few times, and there's not a lot of info out there about it. Learned of it from a Strength Coach on the Tim Ferris PodCast. Thanks

Just seen your video very good stuff, I was loosing weight very fast and was told by doing so I would get loose skin, that I needed to slow down. Well I did that and pretty much slowed down way to much, anyhow do you do vegan meal prep?

It's still amaze me just how a lot of people don't know about Fenoboci Diet Plan (do a search on google) even though lots of people lost a lot of weight with it. Thanks to my personal mate who told me about it. I've lost tons of fat.
