How -Clean Eating- Is Keeping You Skinny and Weak
video description
People don't seem to realise that to get bigger, stronger and better we have to make sacrifices and put a little time and effort into the planning side of things. First thing I ask someone that is having troubles reaching their goals is 'hows your nutrition'. 9 times out of 10 they just give me a blank stare.

-Clean- food has less calories per unit weight so you will end up consuming less calories in order to feel full. Example: blueberries vs. Oreos. But I do agree with your views on it being semi-lazy to eat the same shit everyday. Not to mention there are people raking in the dough selling pre-made nutrition plans (that shit kills me. People don' t believe me when I tell them how macros works and they prefer a written out -bro diet- over having flexibility which is crazy to me.

The best thing to do is use the Mifflin formula, determine your lean body weight, and plug in the numbers. Start there. The rule of thumb is to add 500 calories for daily activity. add 500 calories for workout, providing you bust your freaking ass in the gym like I do. Then add weight gain, or subtract for weight loss goals. There are specific ratios for weight gain, weight loss, or weight maintenance. I tell my clients if it wasn't food 100 years ago, it's not food today.

I have a question I'm new to weightlifting and I have my macros at 2 grams carbs, 1 gram protein, and. 5 grams fat per pound of bodyweight for all 3. I'm 150 pounds so 300g carbs, 150g protein, and 75 g fat for a total of 2500 kcal. Are my macros set correctly for a lean bulk or should I up my protein or calories in general? Thanks in advance.

I'm far from a pop-tart and donut eating IIFYM zealot. But to claim that -eating clean- - an undefined term - is the solution to both building muscle and losing fat is just silly. I don-t care how -clean- you eat, if you have no idea how much you-re eating, you-re setting yourself up for failure.

For me avoiding soda, cake and highly processed crap is eating clean for me. But more important is tracking what I eat and making sure I eat enough calories, fats, carbs and protein for my bulk. I do a clean bulk of about 200-300 calories above maintenance. That to me is clean eating. Great post.

I'm glad you talked about tracking your calories. I'm very skinny and I try to eat A LOT, like 5 to 6 times a day, but how can i track my calories with precission? Am I supposed to weight each meal or something?

The old school bodybuilders had it right: eat, eat, eat, then diet, diet, diet. You get a lot stronger over eating than not.
