LOL, I. L. S. (imaginary Lat Syndrome) It is a 'real problem' and can be found in almost any gym or beach anywhere there's a crowd to feed the ego. I had a friend in highschool that was as skinny and wirey as they come, same thing. walk in a room like he had beach balls under his arm. In his case he was likeable enough people overlooked it. Then there is the guy that shows up to some social event (not a beach) with no shirt. and everyone is uncomfortable not because he doesnt have a shirt, but because its not the time to not wear one and they are embarrassed for him. (you think, Does he really think everyone thinks wow he's awesome) I know a guy like that too. Want to be impressive? Find a person that looks like a beast in a T-shirt. If you can wear a T and be as impressive as wearing a Tank. news flash. You look better than the guy wearing a g-string tank. He's close to the skinny guy with I. L. S. ego ruins any physic. If they are so impressive it surpasses the distain of ego? (as in your like; Dam) the conclusion is still: To bad hes such an -#$%#! h. well you get the picture.

Experienced lifters, feel free to correct me if I'm accidentally spreading bad info, but for me, I have a HARD time connecting with my lats. This video is exactly what I've been looking for, and I'll try pullovers in my next workout. But I've found that the best way for me to connect with my lats is by using the lat pulldown cable machine, but keeping my elbows locked out and ONLY pulling down with my lats. VERY short range of motion, and I'm CERTAIN I'm not engaging the entire muscle group, but as a very new lifter, it's the only thing I've found to connect with 'em. Regular lat pulldowns burn out my biceps (they keep taking over no matter how I've tried, and I barely feel it in my back at all.
I'll try these pullovers, see if I get a better connection, but if you have some issue with trying a pullover, give the straight-arm lat pulldown a try. It MIGHT help you connect with those lats.

Love the info. Love the humor. Hate the music. Every tuber from lathe guys to pistol guys to car guys seem to gravitate toward mind numbing, distracting din. Try some Chopin nocturnes.
Or Boccherini Cello suites. Carlo Gesualdo madrigals. You'll be thankful for the berserk irony against your dark and stoic humor. And this advice comes from a classic rock, borderline metal musician. With a twisted humor deeply. ah, never mind.

Ryan, I was taught to do the pullovers sitting sideways to the bench the way you were but not all those grip variations. I'll be trying those Sunday! I've always kept my hands in a diamond position & single dumbbell. Also on the high pulley pull downs I do use the short bar but w legs wider ( like riding a horse) & pulling bar all way between my knees. Cant wait try e z curl bar for doubles & the intense single. Thanks!

If you do pullovers with dumbbells make sure they-re the solid, one piece type or have steel locking nuts. I used dumbbells with plastic locking nuts and the end of the dumbbell bar with all the weight on slammed into my eyeball, squishing it and crunching the orbital bone. I now have a plate under my eyeball holding it up.

If you suffer from sleep apnea don't do lat pullovers laying on a flat bench. The position of the exercise forces you to stress and strengthen the throat muscles that close off your throat when you sleep. You'll find when you lay down and relax your throat wants to close off. Don't believe me I don't care I sleep good at night.

Sir, you're either a great trainer or just an a$$hole like you mentioned. Day two on the 30 day challenge and the shoulder workout was difficult to say the least. I haven't worked out for several years and jumped right into this. Thank you.
