How To Grow Your Outer Quads - Vastus Lateralis Exercies -Quad Sweep

Want a better outer quad sweep? Don't worry, there's hope! I was scrolling through some of the videos other creators made and was shocked at the lazy answers that were given. These are some people I really respect like Dave Palumbo and John Meadows but the advice to simply just squat more or your limited by genetics wasn't sitting right with me. Simply because I know that those aren't true. Unless you have really great genetics then squatting is a really hard exercise to connect to, they really depend on you biomechanics and not genetics. Also, the bigger issue then being bound to poor genetics is that you need to find exercises that really connect to your vastus lateralis. That's the quad muscle that makes up the outer part of your quad. The key is to take all the pressure off your vastus medialis (the more inner quad that becomes dominant for most people) and only do exercises that really hit that out vastus lateralis. The exercises I do in the video really laser focus in on that

-0: 35 -They'll do an exercise that pull into that glute, but then they'll jump in their adductor, and then their vastus medialis will take over, and just killing any sort of connection they have with that outer quad. -
While I didn't major in sports medicine and I'm not a coach, I've been studying bodybuilding for years now and that sentence just didn't make sense to me as to what you were trying to communicate, because it's not a complete thought or related back to a stance or an exercise. I could guess you might be talking generally about a wide stance, but that's just a guess.

interesting, but i have observed extending the knee without taking it to the full range of motion to also develop vastus medialis, while focusing only on lateralis can lead to patellofemoral syndrome. you can incorporate a leg extension isolating the last 10-15 degrees of extension in the split so an imbalance doesnt occur

Great content but the reason you feel it in the inside of your thighs is because your adductor magnus is firing together with other adductor muscles, not your -inner quad aka vastus medialis-. all quad muscles fire with knee extension, you can-t put one more on stretch than the other unless we are talking Rectus Femoris.

I have been training for years now and wondering why I never did this or why no one told me to do this. My legs thighs look weird after a pump. There's a tennis ball like lump on the top on my knee and absolutely no pump or shape outside. Hoping this helps.

Mannnnn these methods work I felt the tightening of my outer quads in the first 20 mins of working out when normally doing squats and leg press it takes bout a hour of working out for my legs to start getn tight and fatigued

Bro you are definitely a comedian-
I love your advice because it's effective. if you apply it, it actually works. One suggestion use simpler terms when describing the anatomy. Outer Quad Mid Inner etc. anyways thanks

hi ryan, you the best man, just one thing please, I like to see more long examples of how you do the exercises. different angles so we can really notes the details. thanks man great content, really glad I found you

Is the leg press exercise easier on the knees?
I have very unstable knees and can barely do normal squats without hurting them. I don't think I'll be able to do that sitting dumbbell squat.

Nice one Ryan. Awesome. That-s how you do a training video. Short and sweet. Straight to the point. Too many training videos online which are waaay to long and filled with nonsense.
