Doing ab exercises will tone the ab muscles. It will also burn calories, which helps with overall body weight loss. BUT, doing ab exercises to lose fat specifically in the abdominal region is impossible. This practice is known as, spot reduction, and was proven to be false decades ago. Perpetuating it is a disservice to unknowing viewers.
