Functional Fitness - 15 Barrel Training Moves In every day life, most of the weights we lift aren-t balanced and stable. They don-t have nice comfy handles that we can grip easily. They are awkward and slosh and shift and are sometimes hard to get a grip on. That is why I love training with barrels. Barrels are a great functional training tool to work your entire body and really strengthen your core. You can get barrels from a waste management company and fill them with water, sand or even rice. Filling the barrels with different things will not only affect the weight, but how hard your core has to work to stabilize. For example, sand may be heavier, but water will slosh more forcing you to work hard to stay balanced. Try these 15 barrel moves and get in a great functional workout using an awkward, heavy tool! Dear,
These exercises are not within my reach. I will keep the idea, for when I have one available space and the use of the barrels.
Already I transported barrels when I worked at a hydroelectric plant and remember how the movement of the liquid very difficult their handling, imagine that with these exercises the principle should be the same. Coming causing instability due to displacement of liquid within the barrel. It must be very difficult.
Thank you!
Big hug!

what does this do as far as an actual long term strength goes? Have you tried working for 12 hours in a warehouse? Do you think you could do it for a month? The reason I ask is that I have done some useless weight lifting and then when I applied the strength I had to real world, I had people that work 12 hours a day kick my ass like you wouldn't believe. Even though I could lift twice as much weight as they could, just not for long.

great stuff. Although i have never seen any barrels at the gym lol. I will use some variations of what you did in the video tomorrow and improvise using other bits of equipment: )
