Frankfurt is an amazing city, it is the financial capital of Germany and home of the European Central Bank ECB. Many people only pass through Frankfurt and miss out on all of the amazing cultural aspects of this fine city. This video sets out to give tourists an idea of what they will love and hate about visiting Frankfurt as a tourist

I agree about the skyscrapers. The very centre of the city is dominantly concrete, glass and steel. If I would visit Frankfurt as a tourist, I would gert out of the city centre as soon as possible. The best parts of the city are around the centre much like a donut. Nothing to see or feel in the centre.
I disagree about the people near the main railway station. This phenomena is global. Every big city has their share of narcotics and whatnot. I have never had any problems with them.
I have been working in Frankfurt for 3 years and during that time I learned a few things about this wonderful city.
The prices of hotel night vary a lot. During the high season, when everything is booked, the prices are sky-high. This happens when there is some big exhibition going on. On other times the prices are much more affordable.
The best day to visit Frankfurt is saturday. Then You have the flea market, producers market and other really interesting stuff going on. Normal weekdays are just normal weekdays and sunday is totally dead.
Bicycle is the best method for transportation in Frankfurt. Next comes the communal traffic. Please, pay Your ticket, traveling without a ticket and getting controlled is not a joke. Just buy a day-ticket and enjoy. I would buy that already at the airport.
I can tell that You made Your video near Zeil. That is one of the most expensive districts for a tourist. It is cheaper everywhere else, including the city centre.
Places I would recommend:
- Leipzigerstrasse
- Konstablerwache Bauermarkt (saturdays)
- Bockenheimer Warte Bauermarkt (wednesdays)
- Lindleystrasse or Mainkai. The place of flea market alters weekly between these two
- If You are fit enough, cycling to Bad Vilbel (and back) is worth the sweat
- Senckenberg museum
- Palmgarten
.
and so on: )

I was about to comment on some things and than realized that it's an almost 9 year old video. but even then, Frankfurt is not as expensive at it would be New York, Frankfurt offers a lot of things on a way smaller area than any american city. wow, I liked that. You don't get that fairy-tale (Bavaria) feel in Frankfurt. well that's the case in the biggest part of Frankfurt. Even in Munich you wouldn't get that. It's not Frankfurts fault that all American mistake Germany and Bavaria. It's like. well, you'd be disappointed, when visiting New York, that there are no Cowboys around. I didn't want to comment. damn. oh yes, but the best. you are seriously blaming Frankfurt for your jetlag?

Nothing good or nice about Frankfurt, you go there because you have to go there, a business centre with no soul. The inhabitants and the workers are some of the most arrogant and rude people you will ever meet and the drivers are very aggressive. The city is grey, uninspiring and depressing. It has been decorated up in places in an attempt to hide, its cold and hollow nature. The airport is the worst in Europe, unpleasant to use and the security staff are particularly foul. Do not go here, visit Berlin or Munich instead.

I visited here 14 years ago, I love Frankfurt! My friend and I found a mom and pop hostile style, but with private rooms. It was nice! They had continental breakfast, and now there is Airbnb and some really good deals. So, usually with cost I go with a place that has breakfast and keep travel simple and enjoy your visit. Another big factor when choosing a place to stay is security and access to a train stop in Frankfurt. I had a terrific time. Eltville, DE is very nice and part of the main Frankfurt suburbs.

I know I'm late to this but I currently live in Frankfurt and lived here many years before. Frankfurt is the leading Global city in Germany as the 5th largest city (approx 750, 000) and 2nd largest metro in Germany behind the Rhein-Rhur area (Cologne, Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Essen area, which makes it very unique. The red light district is right outside the main train station but if you go north of the train station and not across the street, then you will find one of the largest trade fairs in the world.

Im sorry mate, youre a cock! As an English guy living in the Bahnhofsviertel, it is really only the 50 meters around the station. The tramps/junkies/tramps leave you alone.
As to flying to/from Frankfurt Hahn, if youre an idiot and not check your destination before you fly, youre fault!
Yes, it is a small city, but it is perfectly formed. We have amazing public transport, amazing restaurants and world class hotels.

The city has been doing lots of mistakes and are still:
1. They should have fused into a big metropolis like Koln, Berlin, Munchen
2. They should shut down Hahn airport to make F/M airport bigger
3. They should extend the U-bahn and automate the lines

Me and my partner stayed a night there in a hotel right by the train station. Like you said it was a horrible area full of junkies. But it did just seem to be only that area, once we walked 1 minute away things changed and it was a very nice city.

I love the city for many reasons. I hate the city because of its red light zone in central business district. I also hate the city because of its unsafe central train station area. A lot of drug addicted people made this area unsafe.

2: 05 so true. lol. Central station is shy and cool at the same time. Great restaurants, people from all over the world, banks and then. prostitutes, drug addicts and bums
