How bout backpacking on a shoestring budget? Staying mostly in hostels, couchsurfing, hitch hiking, and other cheap methods of transportation of there is any. I'm not that big on museums, but I probably will go to a some just to learn something about the history, but I'm more of a sightseeing and partying kind of guy. I do want to go to festivals, raves, beaches, maybe bar hop every once in awhile. I don't have any cities I want to visit in particular just want this to be as spontaneous as possible. Is this doable? Do I really need a lot?

I'm about to do a backpack tour; this is good advice, but I will not. stink. Washing clothes is easy and necessary-- and besides I use space bags for everything which keeps stink to itself. I got 50 soap sheets for 60 days. c'mon. Daily showers, deodorant. I'll spend 3-7 days at each stop, and see sights but that pace means sitting in a park reading a book, window shopping, doing photography (architecture in particular) unrelated to tourism, exploring, all keep me oriented and grounded.

She will be 2 1/2 when we plan on heading out next year. I have seen the videos about how to keep kids entertained and it was a good piece. Our last trip we were in Italy for 2 weeks along with a split week in Krakow (which is AMAZING) and Berlin. Is there any other place that would have things to keep her entertained while still having fun for adults. We were thinking Barcelona and Paris maybe just not sure how it would be.

Well, as we are talking about the reach of social media and the importance of networks (which I will cover in November) being able to track the views and likes leads to a direct discussion later in the semester on how we can use our networks to build business. If you feel uncomfortable with this please come see me at my office hours and I will gladly negate the extra credit and not do this. It is up to you.

I plan on going this summer with my cousin, not including the cost of my flight i will have 6k USD, i want to go to Rome, Florence, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Munich! I will be staying at hostels, its not a fancy vacation but traveling to see the world. Will that be enough money for my trip? (I might make a stop in Switzerland and Belgium)

as a fellow traveler I say THANK YOU. Because there are so many backpackers who do not. The travel size aisle at major stores have so many little things that can make a big difference. Johnsons baby shampoo makes a good clothes detergent and shampoo combo (a bit silly but for some it helps. Sounds like you are ready to go! have a great trip!

A good leader says go. A great leader says let's go. I can see why you might feel the way you do. But as a recent advertising grad, it's so important to teach students real world applications and getting them involved with something you like/do as a professor is a great way to ensure you're invested in teaching them.

I dont agree. Planning is the fun part, especially nowadays with the internet and google earth. Backpacking doesnt have to mean no planning! Me and my wife always argue about where to go. This year we saw Prague, although she wanted to go to Italy. One thing we agree on is that we both like long distance trains.
