I'm from London born and bred and my advice to all the tourists stay away from East London and some parts of South London Greenwich park is nice but just stay in all the main attractions but if you need help with anything just ask the people who work at the trains or tube stations their alot more friendlier and helpful than the Bus driver's they can be very abrupt and argumentative and don't have patients not all of them of course and it's very important that you take care of your belongings because theirs alot of pick pocketers about watch your back with street performers too and make sure you go to a proper souvenir shops aswell

London is my favorite city, and I found all these things to be very true. The Tower of London is a must-see, and Notting Hill was the most fun neighborhood. The most amazing thing I saw in London was while biking through Hyde Park. I saw a bunch of horse trailers parked, and there was a large group of people with show horses all riding around in a big circle. Being a horse lover, I stopped the bike, parked myself on a park bench and just sat there mesmerized. It was like a dream, and I'll never forget that experience. If you haven't been to London, definitely put it on your list of places to see.

London is my favorite city in Europe. England is my favorite country. The UK is amazing in general. It has all the culture and class of Europe with all the convenience of the US, AND THEY SPEAK ENGLISH! Ive been all over Europe, and lived in the Netherlands for ten years, and the UK is where I always suggest Americans visit first in Europe. It helps ease them into things without too much culture shock

USA average = 106 rain days per year, receives 38 inches.
London England = 106 rain days per year, receives 22 inches. So 8. 5 months out of the year have no rain. (1mm or more counts as a rain day. So you could get a very brief spot shower on a rain day with the rest of the day being fine, dry / & or sunny.
London & / England = much drier than than the USA on average.

It's true museum prices are a joke. At least in Paris the last Sunday of the month all museums are free. Over 40% of people in London, were not born in the UK. Getting around can get very expensive, sometimes the tube stops are so close together that it's quicker (and cheaper) to walk. And don't try 'to do' London in one trip. It's massive.

If any tourist ask me for direction I'll tell them the wrong direction. Especially those who wear fanny bags. Oh I love being a cabby sometimes. It has its perks especially when you get the fat American blimp asking where the nearest McDonald's is, and taking them to one which is the furthest away in a area that is outside the m25

Londoners don't interact with others as an american i am actually shocked that there are people that don't want to chat with foreigners lmao. I let myself be late to work once because I ran into an Italian and talked to a Nigerian expat for 2 hours in Walmart. Getting sick of tourists is understandable though

I went to London in 2018 and was amazed at how good the public transportation system was. The Tube and the bus system were great. It was so easy to get around, I only had to use a taxi a couple of times while in London.

How does this metro system compare to New York or Paris? We have done both. I'm assuming we'll do fine with this metro system since we have done the other 2 fairly well with not much problems.
