Budapest, Hungary is more than just the capital of Hungary, it is an incredible melting pot of history, artchitecture, spa life, parties, museums, and more. There is so much to do in Budapest from visiting the famous Buda Castle to visiting the Terror Museum and taking in the sights throughout town. There are things that tourists should not do when they visit Budapest and this is that list. What not to do in Budapest

I believe Gabor already mentioned in comments, but small tip from foreigner living in Bdpst for past 4 years about Taxis:
Taxis are actually super convenient, but you cannot just jump into every one. As fella in video says, the random ones are literally mafia rip offs.
My advice is to download Bolt (name of Taxify since 2019, create an account and do everything in the app. You can pair your card with it (same like Uber) so there is no need of payment in the car itself.
By regulation, they have to show you the price range for your trip in advance and it is almost impossible to get scammed - you can follow the route in the app so if you feel that driver is taking you for sightseeing, you can dispute it in the app itself and usually get the refund in 2 - 5 days.
When it comes to prices, those two are rather cheap - going across Pest part usually cost around 10 eur tops and it is not depending on number of people. Hop in with 3 friends and you are on 2, 50 eur per head - and that is just a steal. :)

Not really a hungarian or cultural thing, but if you are into movies or musicians, don't forget to hang out around the Four Seasons - due to the lot of movie productions that are made partly in Budapest or around, MANY famous stars and performers can be spotted there any day since they are almost always stay in that hotel. (This month you could've met Cate Blanchett, Oscar Isaac, Jamie Lee Curtis or Kevin Hart, for example) The streets around the hotel are also very-very pretty, there are amazing places to buy ice cream or coffee, so I suggest to take a long walk around that area on a lazy day, if you have the time. :)

Hi, Its a great video about this gorgeous city, Im a big fan of Budapest.
There are sooo many things to do and see. Bars, restaurants, Margaret Island and so much more. Have you ever been in the Zoo coffee?
Let me correct just one thing, Budapest is one of the safest city in Europe.
Have you had any issues there?
I had been living there for a very long time (40 years) and I never had any issues. I went everywhere, every times day and night as well without any problems. Promise.
Anyway thanks for the video.
Cheers

You forgot to mention a few important things. I would surely mention the Childrens railway. It was built in a communist era, mostly as a propaganda tool, but the kids loved the mostly kid operated railway so much, that it remained, and it has huge social functions too. The route is scenic, and it is a very nice attraction in the city.
When you have mentioned visiting other cities, towns. It makes sense to at least consider Interrail or EUrail passes as they can be very good for travellers.

As someone living in this city: I don't think the safety is as bad as you say it, I think it's pretty similar to most other European cities. But you are soooo on point with the taxis. They rip off tourists, they rip off non-tourists, they will try to rip off everyone. Sometimes you still have to take it and then you realize that the same route that you took just a few weeks ago suddenly now costs twice the price, then a completely different price the next time.

Hi mate, hope you read this in time. You are talking about the night life but I'm getting different info from various resources that the nightlife is closed to tourist since you need a hungarian immunity pass. We are flying tomorrow and would love to enjoy a nightclub, but we are so confused right now. Since you've been to budapest already, what was your experience in the nightlife? Is everything open to tourist?

You in HUNGARY wearing a Germany T Shirt are you insane?
Don't do that in Poland because at night time you have about a 75% chance of getting punched in the face

Pro tip. The public transport system is fantastic. Use it.
That funicular is cool and historical but theres a bus line that goes up there and is certainly cheaper.
