In the Transcon Throwdown miniseries, I'll dave: So. In December I took 4 Polaris flights LAX-EWR, rinse and repeat, my thoughts. It could be a good product when traveling as a couple, when flying by yourself, it's subpar, the seat itself is comfortable, even more so as a bed, though I did find having the headphone lug way behind my head strange. on 2 of the 4 flights UA didn't load enough headphones for those in Polaris, which after I figured out that though it is a twin plug just plugging in my own into one of the plugs would give me stereo sound, but still, you know it's going to be a full flight and still not enough headphones. That's just silly. The crews were all good, the food was okay, nothing mind blowing, but nothing horrible. In the end, I just can't get past the having to climb over someone to get to the aisle in the modern era.

JetBlue doesnt have a lounge, which for me is a major part of the experience. Uniteds plane was old, and the lounge at EWR looked tired, so I think the contest is between Delta and American. American has some special touches such as Flagship check in, three class service and newer planes. Delta has the transcon flights on wide bodies sometimes, and has really outstanding lounges, so I think its down to the soft product.

Why do people dislike United? Theyre great and we should always consider 100 years ago we couldnt do this. So we cant complain or have a go at United airlines, Ive never been able to fly internationally and I live in Australia but I would fly all airlines in America for the sake of comparing them like Jeb is here, and Im sure everyone else has, United is great regardless of some incidents that every airline had

You are too young to know, but there is an airline rule that to be considered a true transcon flight it must originate or terminate in either JFK or LAX. This rule dates back to the 1960s, so I can understand how you could accidentally violate it. Also in future reports could you please include how many seats there are in First/Business and whether the cabin was full or not. Thanks for taking us along!

I predict, with good reason, that Delta will win the prize to transcontinental flights; of course, my decision is based on years of travel with them. I've found Delta to be pretty consistent across the board with food, service, comfort, aircraft cleanliness, and interior cabins. I think I've watched 90% of your videos. I really enjoy them as they are over-the-top informative and fun. Thank you.

OK, the reason the name UNITED is backwards is so that all the united glasses can be sorted together by the company that washes all of the airlines dishes. If you wash and store dishes, you place them upside down in the storage crates. Technically, Delta has theirs backwards because the name is only meant to be seen from the bottom. :)

I love United and personally I think United should win but thats being me being bias but I really think JetBlue is going to take the W if you are on there A321 and in the mint cabin in the seat where you are alone than JetBlue will win no matter what

Uniteds 757s in Newark to LAX/SFO were built between 1989 (N502UA being the oldest) to 2000 (N19141 being the youngest. While older they have stronger flying performance. The interior fittings arent the newest either and could use some updating.

I will give a slight edge to AA because they offer the only true first-class transcon service. Otherwise, I would give DL a very slight edge. UA would probably rank at the bottom of the list.

From what I've heard, I hear that Jet Blue Mint is great.
But then, as the EVIL GEORGE SOROS is one of the MAJOR Jet Blue owners, I will NEVER give that America-hater one cent of my money!

I'm not sure who will win? But lets see who is the best! I'm excited! BTW what aircrafts are you gonna fly on jetBlue, American, and Delta? This is gonna be one awesome video series!
reply

Would you consider doing the transcon throwdown again? United is now operating their 787-10 with Polaris, and Delta is operating their 767-300 on the JFK/EWR-LAX routes.

Great series Jeb! Looking forward to the rest. Your meal looked way nicer than my DL meal from ATL to LAX in March. And DL from ATL to LAX premium cabin. no amenity kit.
reply

jetblue maybe delta, I think it is so cheesy to put in a coupon for product without a flight sized sample of product in the amenity kit and call that an amenity; -)

Interesting contest. Ill be watching but being an 1M AAdvantage member, Im not jumping ship; especially considering I live in L. A. where all 4 have a presence.

J to the e to the t to the b to the l to the u and the e. JetBlue hands down. You get your own PRIVATE SUITE. almost like Emirates. But watered down

Love United! Always good service/food, especially trans-con flights. United will soon be flying 787-10's EWR-SFO with Polaris!

At around 4: 38 Jeb says the windows won't close all the way Yikkes, bit drafty, but handy if you are a smoker and need a ciggy I guess. :)

Yesterday I flew BOS-SFO in business class on a UA 757 and I watched your video beforehand, and I have to say, I absolutely loved it!
reply

its not backwards when u look at it from the bottom of the glass lmao. facepalm. and incredible meal on united. said no one ever
reply

Everything looked good. The 757 sure is narrow inside. Wonder how VA would fair in this contest? Bet Jet blue will rank high.
reply

I don't even need to watch the rest of the series (although I will LOL) because the #1 best transcon product is jetBlue's Mint!
reply

I was laughing because domestic routes here in the U. K. are only about one hour duration! In the US its up to 6 hours or more lol
reply

Cant wait for the rest of the episodes. How friendly are the first class lounges to families? Mainly those with small children
reply

Nice transponder service now please travel to Ethiopian Airlines and Singapore airlines and Delta airlines on the
reply

Air China has those same seats on their planes in business class. They're not bad at all for the 2 seat configuration.
reply

Excited to see this series! I am flying first class, transcon with American in June. JFK to SFO! Thanks Jeb!
reply

Transcon flights for the big 3 are just like international flights. Meal in economy and sometimes alcohol included
reply

I vote JetBlue, but I would love to see an actual United Polaris seat on a transcontinental as part of a relocation.
reply

You should do this again on United's New Polaris seats on the 787-10. Much better then the old 757 Polaris seats!
