In the Transcon Throwdown miniseries, I'll Daniel: Ill get this straight: American, United, and American are all good airlines. I feel that there are quite a few rude people on American and some of Uniteds policies are just downright ridiculous after what happened last year with the doctor and also a lady had her violin taken when FAA law says that musicians with instruments must take it with them on the plane. But thats another story. Point is that I feel like Delta really stands out when it comes to not just the flight attendants but the entertainment as well.

I'm biased because I've almost exclusively flown with United, I flew them 1st class last year from ORD to LAX and the service was amazing. I use American as a backup if United isn't an option, I've always heard great things about Jet blue Mint and as for Delta I've had no experience so I am in no position to form an opinion. Being in the aviation field I get lots of hands on experience with many different types of service and it's going to be interesting to see the result, fly safe: )

As I said before, Delta is gonna be the best. Having been a FA with AA before 9/11, I completely understand the woes of losing a FA on a flight, especially on a trancon flight. As an international's flight RN, (CFRN) I escort patients via commercial airlines, on stretcher or seated. Most of the time I will chose Delta; otherwise, Etihad, Emirates, Qatar, or Singapore Airlines provide top drawer service in every area of concern. Thanks again, Jeb.

Hey Jeb! I have been watching a lot of your videos and set a goal to watch every video you have uploaded to get caught up. I do have one question you maybe able to answer. I travel a lot between atlanta to LAX to visit my parents in LA. I have had trouble finding delta one seats on that route so I always fly first. Why would they have delta one from JFK but not from Atlanta? Thank you again! Looking forward to hearing from you!

I would say UA normally due to Star Silver.
But I also have a score to settle with them: 5 hour ground delay, no free bottle of water (If It was a european carrier then they have to give after 3 hours due to the EU261/04 law.
No clear policy on gopro suction cup.
But then again: making It clear If someone should be using earphones If they decide to watch a movie on their smartphone.

when I was growing up, my family flew TWA and or American. AA lost luggage once. In the last 20 years been flying Delta. Been good so far. Tho hubby & I flew AA from Columbus, Ohio to CLT to SAV -delayed flights. I got bumped from a flight, but that was taken care of.

For me, its American. (1) as far as I know, AA is the only carrier offering a TRUE First Class cabin. (2) AA has a huge presence at LAX (my hometown airport) and takes me wherever I need to go and lastly (3) being a 1M AAdvantage member, I have no intention of jumping ship. .

Delta Looks really nice. Food service is disappointing though. It's unfortunate the FA's are not yet unionized, which is why I won't fly Delta. The company is very anti-labor, busted the Northwest unions during the merger and spends millions on anti-labor propaganda.

Despite of all odds, I still believe that the winner is jetBlue. Not to mention, they still have relatively cheaper price compared to its competitors. They are just doing amazing. But delta is still okay. Better than American and of course United.

Stunning video! I might be a little biased, as I adore the 757, but this had to be pretty far up on the list of transcontinental flights! Cant wait to see the end of this series, and maybe a continuation of it! Loved this: )

Another informative video Jeb thank you for taking time out of your schedule to bring us your videos.
So far in this series I believe Jet Blue innovative service on newer aircraft seems to be leading the competition.

For an older plane DAL does a great job with upkeep. I personally love the 757 series; some of the most versatile planes with the greatest performance factor. Sad how the budget cuts are evident with the soft product.
reply

I know your talking about the Trans Con on this series but let me just say Delta does offer a 1-1-1-1 configuration for D1 on the larger aircraft that also sometimes service this route. ( During peek times and days)
reply

Another great video - the natural extension will be for you to come to Australia to see how our transcontinental services compare. and we can finally do that joint video!
reply

I can't wait to see American Airlines. I used to fly it in the late sixties. It's really interesting to see how things are these days. Keep the great videos coming, Jeb.

Ive flown Delta, and before that NWA, probably 300 times, and got delayed twice.
Ive flown United three times, and also got delayed twice.
Delta all the way!

reply

gee l thought it was going to be jet blue or delta until i watched your review deltas meal service looked very lackluster, especially considering the premium paid
reply

To prevent labeling mistakes like United's, airlines should probably just stick to labeling the sides of the glass rather than the bottom (as they used to do.
reply

Great vid - UA is the clear winner to me so far in the transcon throwdown. But I have to admit that UA service can be inconsistent between crews.
reply

Great Jeb! I think my vote is still going for American and their 3 cabin transcon services! Can't wait for the next episode!
reply

Excellent video as usual Jeb. :) We know you are a Delta man. Looks good for a 20 year old plane. The winner, not sure yet.
reply

hey jeb next time you are in ATL can you make a video on the delta air museum or in Dallas for the American airlines museums
reply

Jeb Im also a delta fan and their 757 is my favorite transcontinental aircraft they have because of those first class seats.
reply

have delta since retired all their 757's by now or are there some 757's still left in use for trans con flights?
reply

So for Delta's 752, are these transcon config planes the only ones left to not get the NuLook bins and walls?
reply

Keep in mind for those who use internet on delta often, buy ahead. Its only 15 for a full day of WiFi.
