In the Transcon Throwdown miniseries, I'll Rob: Thanks for this series Jeb! Nice to see what the other players are offering. For me though, as you can well understand, I have no intention of jumping ship from AA as Im a 1M AAdvantage member and AA has a huge presence here at LAX. AA gets me where I need to go and One World partners by and large carry me elsewhere. That said, the one exception that I make is for international flights whenever/ wherever Lufthansa flies. Their First Class service is OUTSTANDING so when I go to/from Europe they are my go to carrier. . It all boils down to two factors. (1) if you live in a hub city where a carrier is dominate, such as ATL, MSP, DTW naturally youll favor Delta because they OWN those cities in terms of lift/cities served. If you live in LAX as I do an have a choice of carriers that have a sizable presence and do battle with each other (AA, UA, DL) then this is a great comparison. Just my two cents.

First great video Jeb, thanks for posting. You asked who I thought did the best, Here is how I graded them. 1) American, I think they nailed it this time. 2) JetBlue, While I love them and think most of the things you did not like were just because they were still trying to keep prices down, you actually complained about Service, that is a no go and points have to be taken away due to that. 3) United, Again service seemed lacking, not the greatest of seat either. 4) Delta, and I know you like Delta, again, not everyone is perfect, but they still have such a bad taste in my mouth, I just can not give them any credit.

Thanks for this series Jeb. Your videos show each carrier premium transcon service with each carrier trying their hardest to please their respective passengers.
Your videos highlighted the service on the single aisle B757 or A321 aircraft of each carriers, however Delta does operate a widebody B767-3 or A330-3 on the most popular departure times.
If I had to choose a winner I would give first place d to Jet Blue for the competitive advantage of the free Wi-Fi on board the flight and their innovative meal service.

Jeb, that plug while it may look like an s-video like some have commented, it is actually for Apple devices, if you ask your flight attendant they have some adapters that allows you to plug your iDevice and share video from it. I'm not sure if they have it for newer lightning connectors yet, their Business class seat on the 777-300 has the same plug and I've used it before with my iPad, it works OK.

Another great video report! AA Flagship Transcon 1st or Business Class is our ( I'm 30+ years AA Employee) landmark domestic service. The A321's were ordered/designed specifically for the transcon JFK-LAX/SFO Flagship Fleet! Again, another great video report and thank you for flying American Airlines! Safe travels sir!

Minor note about the menu email- on my last trip in First Class, it didnt work right away. When I clicked on the link the following day I was able to select my dining options, which were from a bigger list then what I could order on board. Seems like the best practice here is to wait a day and try again!

Great job on the video. I think AA has it when you compare it to the delta 752. Being a delta DM I fly this leg a lot and if you add the a330 into the mix I think delta would have it then. AA is better the the 763/4 and the 752 tho. Delta did pause the a330 on the transcon but it used to be 1 flight each way

Hi Jeb, i been crossing United States 40 years ago in one of the first 747 of National Airlines. I asking me now, ( i ask you, how do i justify the difference of money i spend for a flight of 4 o 5 hours? Thanks from Buenos Aires.
reply

I can't recall all the details of the former videos, obviously I wasn't too turned on. But this video conveyed a whole different mood. If I was going to fly first class across this country, American Airlines it is!
reply

It's funny how everyone's picks in the comments are just their own personal airline preference and have nothing to do with this series haha. That said, I pick Delta for the same reason!
reply

Still don't like the domestic flights as compared to the foreign flights. None of these can even begin to compare with flying Emirates or other foreign airlines of the same caliber.
reply

I agree that it was a good idea to go with the first class, if United offered a first class on this route you would probably go with it too. Nice video, have a nice day.

to me Food on this so called first flight class looked very poor. Did you say they were serving MEATLOAF. I mean thats such a cheap stuff. No menucard and no champagne?
reply

I think whether or not it was Business I think AA was the winner, the may not have the best service on some flights, but this one is by far and away the winner
reply

I think American has done a great job. This is my rating 1) American 2) Delta 3) JetBlue & 4) United Thank You Jeb for this series. It was very enlightening
reply

Its a bit unfair to use a first class product to compare with others. as AA offer biz class on this flight. You should also consider the price worthiness.
reply

I'm a bit late lol, but that's a ps2 port for keyboards and mice, although I don't really know how you would use a mouse or keyboard on the IFE screen

AA does a lot of business with famous people because of the last first class service from LAX to JFK. and return. Great video thanks for posting.
reply

For a second there I actually thought you were gonna be on the 787 aircraft lol! Very nice video as always, now to find out who is the best!
reply

You should have done American Business to compare the other business class seats. Then have the American first Class as a separate review.

Having an S Video socket in a relatively new plane is like having an 8 track in an Uber. (HUGE exaggeration to make a point) But?
reply

When you sum up, can you do a published price comparison? Cheapest mid or expensive will indicate fine but will help with choice
reply

Its a XLR cable connecter it for more advanced auto like studio headphones or noise canceling headphones that have wired
reply

The entrees in AA First and Business on this market are actually completely different. Much better offering in F.
reply

How about comparing AA FC and BC. If the food is the same - other than seat size - why pay so much more for domestic FC?
reply

Great job! I think if this cost about the same as the others or at least DL and UA. this should be the winner by far
reply

Really excited for the finale Jeb. Giving me food for thought for my USA trip next summer on which flight to review.
reply

Can you do something like this for the trans-atlantic, and trans-pacifc airlines? That would be really nice.
reply

American is such a train wreck of an airlines. They are usually my last resort. Way too hit and miss for me.
reply

Americans TransCon service sure looked like the best. I hope their NorthAmerica West management keeps it.
