In my experience cockpit-cabin communication here in Europe is quite good, couple of years ago I was flying from Gatwick to Amsterdam on Easyjet and the incoming flight was 2 hours late, as soon as boarding was completed the captain came out of the cockpit and stood at the front of the cabin and said due to bad weather the flight was delayed, and because we had missed our departure slot we'd be delayed a further 45 minutes to which point the crew were walking down the isle with cups and jugs of water for all of us
On another occasion I was flying from Switzerland to the Gatwick with Easyjet and had a 6 hour delay, when the plane finally arrived the captain again came out to the front of the cabin and said the original aircraft that was supposed to do the flight had a broken engine (I saw this plane at the gate and all of its cowling on the No. 1 engine was open) and could not fly, so they had to ferry an aircraft from Italy to London and then to Switzerland (even tho my flight was the first flight of the day for the route the company decided to return flight to Switzerland first in order to minimize delays later in the day

I personally have a delta platinum medallion. It's usually the only airline I fly. That said
The flight crews in the last 5 years have been I hate to say it kinda rude I guess? I don't always fly first. I usually will book coach or eco comfort and hope my status gets me that much wanted upgrade but that said I find that if I'm in eco comfort where drinks are include i come off as a burdon by asking for another. I tend to relax in the sky with a few Woodfords and a good movie. Not a nervous flyer just a restless person who doesn't like sitting for long periods and Ill sometimes hit the service button for another Woodford or a beer or whatever because it's Included in my seat and lately it's been received with a deep exasperated breathe or just a general sense of me being a bother. Honestly as a huge delta fan for a decade it's upsetting.
All that said on my last flight from Las to jfk i was in the last row worst seat on the plane and the flight attendant made the effort a few min before landing after a very turbulent flight he walked back to Thank me for being a medallion member. That's the service I remember from delta

Their communication when it comes to delays is really awesome. I remember a flight years ago, where there was some technical issue. As it was a smaller plane, the captain himself came out of the cockpit, stood at the front end of the aisle, grabbed a microphone and started to explain, using analogies to car parts that people are likely more familiar with than most would be with aircraft systems.
Or on another occasion, were boarding was delayed because the crew wasn't there yet. The gate agent announced that the crew was to come in on another flight which was delayed, so at the moment they were expecting to push back about 10 minutes delayed. His closing words were I wish we could blame it on our competitors, but the delayed flight they are on is one of ours. So I guess it's on us today. Needless to say, everyone around burst out laughing.

I'm going to Civitavecchia via Rome for a cruise either in 2025 or 2026 so I've been watching travel vloggers videos such as yours to keep an eye on the different airlines that I might fly to see who is skimping since the pandemic started vs. who were skimping for obvious reason that are now starting to return to pre-pandemic standards. I'm leaning and have been for quite some time towards Delta One because the seats are next to the window which I must have. I can't wait tbh because it'll be my first transcontinental flight. The furthest I've flown to is SeaTac then took a bus to Vancouver, BC back in 2001 right after the flight ban was lifted after 9/11 happened.

This is just one persons opinion on one single flight. Sadly there is no consistency in the airline business. You can have a great flight today and bad one tomorrow and a great one next week. Seems to me all these bloggers who spend their time on planes are only doing it for the money they make on these videos and have nothing else to do but waste time flying around. These types of opinions really dont matter much and wont influence anyone into flying one airline or the other. Only cheap fares and the perks they can manipulate out of airlines will fill airplanes.

I grew up flying Delta out of Atlanta frequently (both domestically and internationally, and frequently in first of business) in the 80s and 90s. They have taken a metaphorical nose dive since the mid-90s. I refuse to fly them - so much so I will pay far more to fly anyone besides Delta. When I have to travel for work, I have required our travel department put a note on my profile, No Delta. Service sucks, food sucks, and generally their planes are kind of nasty (trash from previous flights and grime on tray tables, between seats, etc.

I refuse to kiss anyones butt after paying for THIER service especially after notifying them I was handicapped. Next time, Ill take a train or try and find a bus.

So I have learned that Delta is very good on International but not as good on domestic ( some with the 767) I see, so, in conclusion, is that if you going to fly the US airlines: Jetblue is the best option for domestic, and Delta the best for International(350 or 330neo. But if you got the opportunity of something better, don't go for these carriers. Nevertheless, Delta and JetBlue are my plan B for travel.

I kind of like the A330neo product in Delta One over the A350 product. While it's less space, it's a better utilization of space. I feel like the footwells are better designed. The seat controls are mounted on the side of the seat instead of the middle of table surface. The controls are also more responsive. The newer IFE system is above and beyond. Also, I kind of like the lighter aesthetics of the cabin.

Talking about service cuts, it seems like Delta no longer offers Delta One between Seattle and JFK. The only non-stop service offered on my most recent trip to NYC was on a B737-900, which isnt ideal for red-eye flights. Albeit, the cost is cheaper than Delta One. In the future, however, Ill be flying Mint with JetBlue, which is a better product (and cheaper too) in my opinion.

I wish I had flown delta more before the pandemic. I became a delta medallion member during the pandemic and found the crew overall, pretentious, rude and lacking in their jobs. Thats saying a lot because I used to be a United frequent flyer. Ive seen a recent switch in attitudes. Delta crew becoming more rude and United crew enjoying the job and taking pride in what they do

Delta plus Northwest! There was comfy southern charm and Pacific Northwest kindness and manners combined. So long ago. Perhaps with the upper pricing and emphasis on premium services, there will be a return to quality that they knew in their past corporate culture. I'll pay the higher price and stay off of the Greyhound cheap airlines.

I've experienced that computer issue in ORD on United before. Was always curious what that was about, but I figured it had something to do with calcuating weight and balance to determine which runway and flight path etc. How long was your ground time? We were parked almost up to an hour until they fixed the issue.

So, no welcome drink. Ridiculous WiFi cost. Cheap little snack bags.
Delta One almost never allows Lounge access in domestic (or flights to Mexico. So your experience of access is really rare.
You haven't indicated what you paid. Thus, one cannot assess value.
Not a good first experience with you.

This video brings great memories. My first step on American soil was in Seatac airport where I arrived as an international student. I remember the weird feelingI got when I realized I am 10, 000 miles far from my home country. I prefer Seattle And its airport over any other city and airport in USA.

I was really young, and I had taken a Delta MD-90. The safety briefing was really funny, the flight attendant made it something about cookies and stuff, don't remember exactly.
At the end of the flight, they gave me a delta lapel pin.
Got to say that their flight crew was great.

I've been flying SEA to DTW the past month and noticed that some flights from SEA to DTW was on the A330neo. Searched for the plane, and found your videos, and thought, hmmm that airport looks kind of familiar lol. Do you know why Delta is flying the A330neo to DTW?

Delta is now over $40 Billion in debt. Much better than United or American but still in debt. Expect nickel and dime fees to snip away their mounting debt. Of course, Delta hasnt been in the black, financially, for over 40 years so they are accustomed to the red.

Former Delta safety auditor here. At 2: 32, the ramp agent walks between the tug and cart. Fail! That's a good way to get hurt, or worse. And it doesn't just apply to ramp workers. I'm talking pilots, fuelers, catering, cargo agents, etc. Always walk around!

The delta flights from Seattle to and from Atlanta and Atlanta to Quito were absolutely filthy. Only the Quito to Atlanta both times was well done. The Ecuadorian crews nailed it. The American crews dropped the ball. Disgusting.

I realize this is from back in Sept but 2 Stars for the seat isn't really fair.
You're basing this off of OTHER people having issues, you only had an issue with the shoulder belt. It's pretty disingenuous IMO.

Haha, I know that Delta lounge! They wouldn't let me in even on a 1st class domestic ticket! (well, I could pay like sixty dollars for the privilege I took the train to look around the airport instead)

Delta still came out of the year on top. Most people understand why the service was downgraded. Smart Management wants to ensure the airline is in the best financial position possible when travel fully recovers.

You nailed it on what you said about the service. I began flying with delta as a frequent flier since 2018. After pandemic I noticed so much has changed with the crew and how they go about providing service.

You listed a plethora of reasons it wasnt five star service. You get a Jeb score of 2 for inconsistency and inaccuracy based on your own review. Youre inconsistency just needs the algorithm to correlate. .

Delta is way better than American. No IFE on AA planes except the wide-bodies. Go Delta and United. Many airlines have broken seats. Remember your aircraft was a fast replace, Be fair for that.
