Great information, but as someone who has travelled a lot, and a good number of times in first class, there can be huge differences even within a specific airline domestically. Most people overlook the drastic difference in the first class experience when comparing specific aircraft and routes. For example, there are some trans-contidential flights that airlines will offer lounge access, or even champagne pre-departure drinks. I've flown transcon with lay flat seats, in seat huge infotainment, and fanstic meals. So many people are disappointment in domestic first class, because they don't know that the service between a narrow body, wide body, and specific transcons flights can be even more dramatic than this video illustrates. What is almost tragic is for the casual flyer who is springing for first class ticket for a special occasion, doesn't realize is that sometimes for the exact same price, the experience can be worlds apart even on the same airline. For example, try taking the Flagship first transon on AA and then fly on a regular 737 the reverse direction, and the experience is night and day.

AA is HORRIBLE and I will never fly them again! I booked first class round trip international flights for my daughter's wedding, (spending a ton of $, and they unilaterally changed my connections around about a month before the trip. They then had a mechanical gate issue, forced the plane to sit on the tarmac for an hour before giving us another gate, which caused me to miss my connection that THEY amended and then stuck me on another flight in the rear of the plane? It's been 3 months now and I still have not received ANY REFUND! Constant runaround. Shameful customer service.

Just flew AA First Class from DFW to DTW. The flight was just over 3 hours and 10 minutes. I received the lasagna dinner with salad, veggie and desert. I know you mentioned the flight tIme needed for a hot meal as being 3. 5 hrs. Im not fixating on minutiae; rather I wonder if the policy is strictly enforced or if the FAs have some discretionary privilege. In any case I was happily surprised; Delta only gave me snacks for the same flight duration and no pre-departure cocktails either!

United, has hands down been the worst customer service I've ever received. Has nothing to do with the hours of the flight. I have several horrible stories flying through them (I never fly coach either. It's the only airlines that has flights to my international destination during evening hours, or else I'd be flying with another airlines every time I go back to the US.

Ive always had a bad experience with both United and American Airlines. With Delta Ive always felt they are more clean, service was phenomenal and better. And at the end of my trip with delta my things traveled with me! United and American Airlines lost my luggage so I wound up not getting my things back until months later. I will never fly United or American again!

So THIS is 1st Class for domestic flights? For the extremely high cost of flight seats, I'm sure 1st class is not cheap. So if I'm spending that high cost for 1st class damn it, I WANT 1st class service. And to me, service included everything from the inflight 1st drink to a top-notch meal to more than one damn cup of coffee on a 3+ hr flight.

One thing to consider. I recently was on a United flight (economy plus seat) which was delayed and my seat did not have In-Flight Entertainment. We moved onto a different United plane at another gate which DID have IFE and again, I was in Economy Plus. It really all depends on the plane you get.
reply

Cool idea but. three different planes on flights of 3 different lengths at 3 different times of day is an awfully wonky way to compare things.
Well made video but the comparison is kinda worthless tbh. Thumbs up for the quality even if I don't enjoy the way you went about it though!

To truly experience them all I would check out the clubs at the lines' major hubs. Chicago has a ton of United Clubs, Atlanta has good Sky Clubs, etc. It's crucial for business travel. The club food + wifi + good seating really help with frequent travel. I live by those club perks.

Something I am annoyed with United about is the fact that they give annual complimentary lounge access tickets to credit card holders and when we tried to use them at SFO they turned us away because it was the high season (summer. So. Why give them away then?
reply

In my experience, Delta has started using more and more glassware which definitely adds a nice touch to first class, especially on shorter flights where you might not get a chance to experience more of the premium feel in first class
reply

Its surprising to me that they dont offer lounge access with a first class ticket. Also dont like the lack of seat back entertainment. I think if they are doing that they should include the Wi-Fi in the ticket.

Ive only ever flown delta (when with my parents) or budget airlines when flying alone since Im a college student. I assumed that screens were standard on the major 3 carriers Im actually shocked that they arent!
reply

I think the service score is very subjective. Depends on who the flight attendant is and his/her mood that day. I think for a acceptable score - this would have to be over several flights on each airline.
reply

I know that you want coffee that soon
And you are lucky that you got to stream
And I would eat the egg scrambled
Yum i am going to ride American Airlines over to
Barcelona

reply

For those complaining about no IFE, THAT IS NOT THE AIRLINES FAULT!
That depends on what aircraft is used and they are using the one needed for the trip so please stop.

Anybodys got to be better than United. I got nothing but problems with my first class flight on United. Don't bother paying more for first class on United. United is AWFUL!
reply

Not having in flight entertainment is pretty insane to be honest. Areomexico for example, has in flight entertainment on all their 737 and 787 aircraft, no matter the class.
reply

Hi my bag size was 160cm, they mentioned 158cm, is there check very strictly dimensions, or they concentrate on weight, please reply is there any problem with 2cm?
reply

Prices would have been nice. None of them seem worth the huge uptick in price over coach fares. And seat widths are also important and not just leg room.
reply

Overall. a good video but having different planes is a problem. The delta 757 and airbus 320 have significantly better screens for inflight entertainment.

Finally Finally Finally Finally Finally Finally Finally a guy that knows how to film steady, sound mix, and not ramble about non sense! THANK YOU DUDE!

WHY ARE ALL THE AIRLINES SOOOOO OLD IN THE USA? this is insane, why aren't there brand new planes coming out from more manuafacturers?
reply

How is spent an extra $5000 in one day. Id probably when to be a millionaire to feel comfortable spending that much more on flights.
reply

No price comparison? I learned not to fly first class in any of these airlines. Plastic cups? No built-in entertainment. Awful.
reply

That is not blazing fast internet! and don't drink the water. There is no excuse that a FC ticket doesn't get you into the lounge
reply

Nice video! You would come to Japan, then experience and compare JAL's First Class and ANA's Premium Class on domestic flight.
reply

Great job guys. I really enjoyed this video. I could tell you did alot of work Jeb to bring is this content. We appreciate you
reply

Delta looks like the only company that's actually trying. Domestic first class is garbage from all of these airlines.
reply

The only thing I dont like about delta is that you HAVE to go through Atlanta (I am very aware that is their hub.
