Great documentary! It is nice to highlight the positives in the areas that are being upgraded, but the passengers' real life experiences are not really as described here. I have been transiting through this airport for over 20 years and it is getting really bad. They need serious upgrades. Yesterday I flew back from Frankfurt to Dallas Fort-Worth with their Boeing 789-9 Dearmliner, a very nice plane. However, I was shocked to see that they had it parked remotely, somewhere in the middle of the field. At the gate, you scan the boarding pass and then you go two stories down the stairs with no option for escalators. The bus was waiting outside, then it drove us to the airplane, where we took more stairs up to get on the plane. I cannot describe the frustration and disgust openly expressed by many passengers, especially Americans, because here we jump from gate directly into the plane. Unless you are in a wheelchair to get a ride to the airplane with their special bus, nobody cares. Not everyone is in perfect health condition and in their 30s, with great mobility to enjoy dragging luggage up and down stairs. This is so 70s. Of course, their airport personnel are not the nicest I've seen, but this is a given. Another thing, if you travel business class and want to visit the lounge, plan to put your name on a list and wait for over 30 min in a small hallway before they allow you to enter the lounge. Sorry, but this is not what I expect for paying over $4K on the ticket. They may be understaffed, but maybe they need to pay their workers better wages and return to its past glory. From now on, after 20+ years, I will avoid this airport like the plague.

We live in Kenya and I've flown through FRA at least 30 times. Your behind the scenes video was excellent and showed me things I never knew about FRA. Also the airport hotels for long or overnight layovers are convenient. I love the forest trails next to the airport as well. I used to work on the ramp (apron) for United in Denver. You explained all of that under the wing activity very well. The highlight of my shifts were when I got to do the push backs for the planes althought we didn't use those huge tugs you were in. Downside of Denver is working outside loading and pushing planes in sub zero weather and snow.

Absolutely incredible. I just flew through FRA yesterday, and was so impressed by the bag drop system. I never would've guessed that so many people work on the campus, but I think that's so cool about Germany's private airports. MUC is similar, in that it has a ton of office and conference space integrated near the terminal. Rather than making the airport a totally insular and utilitarian space like in the US, Germany seems to make their airports centers of commerce and productivity, extremely well-integrated into the transit network. Many lessons to be learned.

Long time fan but I put off watching this video for two weeks. I live ten minutes from Newark airport and for the last 25 years have traveled to Germany at least twice a year. Which means I usually have to go through Frankfurt and have no love for that airport. Long lines with multiple security checks is beyond annoying. I try to fly direct to Munich instead. But, this video did give me a new appreciation for the facility. You showed me how multiple employees are trying to keep the place running with all that traffic. So thanks for that and hugs ro Suzanne.

Love this video! I am proud to say that the JebScore is VERY accurate as I've flown a good couple amount of flights: ) Now Jeb, I have a rather odd request. I am looking forward to studying abroad in South Korea later in 2028 for my major, Computer Science. I love flying and have never flown in a class better than basic economy, I want to fly business class with Asiana Airlines from LAX - ICN. Would it be possible to complete this route in favor to see if this flight is acceptable by the JebScore?

Jeb - great video as always. For many US military members and their families, Frankfurt - and the former Rhein-Main AFB where Terminal 3 is now being built - was the Gateway to Europe. It's also where you can find the Berlin Airlift Memorial. And - for those of us who are also train aficionados - there are not just one, but two train stations at the Airport - the high-speed station under the Squaire office building, and the Regionalbahnhof below Terminal 1. Keep up the good work!

The people there are quite rude! In 2008 my son and myself had a stopover in Frankfurt enroute to Toronto. The airport was having renovations and we had to ask 3/4 people for directions to the gate. And they were very rude replying to us. Dont know if thats their normal behavior or two of them whom we asked for assistance were racist in their behavior. Ever since then, never took Frankfurt as a stopover for my flights. Prefer Amsterdam.

The departure board like the one in the video due to size is the only one in the world yes but on the suspect of system it isnt the only one in the world here in Belgium at EBBR or Brussels/Zaventem airport theres one same as the one in frankfurt airport, even the railways stations in Brussels Belgium use the same rattle systems. So if u enjoyed this scene at Frankfurt Airport youll gonna love the bord at Brussels Airport.

Great video, Jeb. I've flown through FRA dozens of time over the years, and unfortunately I've had more problems there than anywhere else! Missed connections, lost baggage, cancellations, late gate changes, security issues - you name it. I've always thought that because of it's size and pax volumes that's not surprising, and this movie proved it. Hats off to everyone who works there. Still prefer Schiphol, though.

Transferring from international to domestic flights was never the same way twice, it seemed like going through a labyrinth and then being stuffed into a tiny elevator for a ride up into the terminal, then another endless walk through more smoke-filled corridors. Nein danke!

We had the chance to get a behind the scenes view at Lufthansa Technik and Fraport in 2017 as part of our studies at the university. We were able to go into a 747 and visit the groundcontrol. After seeing your video I can only reinforce your statement that Fraport does an excellent job on showing their work to interested people.

When we went through in 2018, we werent ready for the hike ahead of us once we de-planed. The ticket machine to purchase train tickets wouldnt allow English speakers to use(stuck in German, and the step UP to the train from the platform was challenging. Ive never been in an airport that big and we shall avoid it in the future.

I spent what was one of the best parts of my Air Force career on that ground that is now becoming Terminal 3 when it was Rhein Main Air Base. I was sad to see it go but am happy that Frankfurt will be helped to thrive by increasing the capacity of the Frankfurt Flughafen.

What a great video. But the airport itself is boring. The food isn't great and the staff doesn't feel particularly friendly. And the transfer routes are really complicated and not very passenger friendly. Shopping isn't particularly special, except for the German white wine.

Traveled through FRA a few times this year. Has to be the most inefficient airport currently. Arrived on a 787 from the US, got on a bus. Changed terminals, got on a bus. Flight out to European city, got on a bus. Will do everything to avoid going through FRA in the future

My goodness. All those people behind scenes people watching everyone with CCTV, trying to make things move smoother for the people making their way into and out of the airport. Too bad the US airport, SEA (Sea-Tac, doesn't know about this stuff. SEA is a mess.

I had a family member experience a medical emergency in the Frankfurt airport. The response was as swift, well managed, and organized as you could ever hope for. Ill always be grateful to the airport operations folks for their work that day.

I remember living in Germany from 1980-1985 and every time we flew back home to the states we flew through Frankfurt. In 1985 we actually flew out of Rhein main AFB across from Frankfurt international and we flew on a world airways dc-10: )

Very great video. Even if it seemed a bit hectic. You could have taken much more time for the individual sections - or divided the series into several parts. I could have watched much longer.
