As an Australian, the worst part is seeing how low quality and low value the Australian 'premium' train trips are. The best cabin on any of our routes isn't even close to being the worst cabin on any of the others. It's always degrading to see how disappointed international travel bloggers are when they experience them. They should honestly shut them down as luxury trips and just put them together as commuter trips with basic amenities and simple sleeping arrangements like Amtrak.

I really like this compilation video. I have seen the full videos already, but having them all presented here back to back was superb! So far, we have taken only 2 of these trains, the Ghan and the Canadian. We loved loved the Canadian, even though on the 2nd day I broke a rib falling in the dome car. ouch. thanks so much for these videos. Two more of these are on our list!

All of them looks exceptional, but the Orient Express is in a league of it's own. The most known train in the world, and rightfully so. Everything about it, from the exceptional interior, to the food. And just a little bit of mystery and intrigue, thanks to the book noone has heard of, called Murder on the Orient Express.

They're not all first class trains though guys, they have lower level classes and get the same experience at a more affordable cost. It is more that some maybe first class such as the Orient Express but trains like the Canadian have a few first class suites at a high price but the majority of the train is very affordable.

I’ve done The Canadian though not in Prestige Class. It was awesome and I’d do it again in a heartbeat, in the other direction just to mix things up a bit! Based on Jeb’s reviews of the others, I think Rovos Rail in South Africa looks the best and, relatively speaking, good value.

As a proud Australian - You can take the Ghan back with you. I just want high speed and modern trains as is common place in Europe, Japan, Korea & China. Australia and America are decades behind the world. We might as well be in the 1960's when it comes to train travel.

I'm glad you make these Videos for I do not have the money to waste at those prices. Same here in the States with Vacation Hotels and such. They complain of lack of customers but never look to their pricing but just complain. Same with Amtrac.

Really enjoyed this video. I will never get to experience these journeys and to be honest, I could never appreciate the cuisine on them, but it's still enjoyable and fun to watch. Thank you and keep doing this. Glad you included the pricing.

I could never pick a favorite; all so magnificent in their own way. This is why you travel by train. The beauty you see is spectacular. Hopefully, you do a deeper dive on each. Thank you for such a fantastic post.

Nice video, but for the price of the Asian Presidential train fare was exactly $2, 000 more than I paid for a new 2025 Corolla, including taxes and insurance for a year. Just to put those numbers in perspective.

Great trains and spectacular views but I simply have better things to do with my money.
If I want spectacular views I’ll ride the Amtrak Coast Starlight or the Empire Builder for far far less money.

I am not against a Clip Show style episode at the year's end. Don't misunderstand me. I am just wildly disappointed that the intro was you dressed up in a train terminal, rather than at home in your pajamas.

Jeb these are awesome but I hope you can consider doing a full length video review of each of these! A run-down video like this is great but its awesome hearing your in depth views and insights
reply

I love these first-class trains - you can spend an arm and a leg for the same route that can be done on local trains. The classic one is the Orient Express which isn't even the same route.

GreenerGrass, didn't you do an uber luxurious train ride in Japan I'm surprised that trip didn't make the cut! I would have cut the Canadian train ride for the Japanese one instead.
reply

Good summary video of your various train trips around the world. Do consider making more videos of train trips for the masses outside of North America and Europe too. India China

GreenerGrass I hope you’re gonna give more detail in another video on these trips. Would love to see more. So beautiful, love your videos this one was to short.

No other train company can ever beat this! Not even Amtrak or Deutsche Bahn. You guys just unlocked a new kind of transit mode, not cruise ship, but cruise train.

The Andean Explorer originally started its life as the Australian Great South Pacific Express. It ceased to operate in 2003, and the coaches transferred to Peru in 2016.

Love this little recap video for all the luxury trains taken so far! Great for year end review and also a reminder to your viewers which trains to go experience!
