Delta A220 Inaugural Flight

Delta Air Lines is proud of their new Delta A220 (a/k/a the Bombardier C-Series. Delta is, after all, the first airline in North America to operate the Delta A220. I was fortunate enough to be on the inaugural flight from New Yorks LaGuardia Airport to Dallas-Fort Worth. Based on my experience, the Delta A220 was an impressive aircraft. But watch this video to judge the Delta A220 for yourself! Delta Air Lines claims their A220 offers an improved passenger experience. The Delta A220 offers bigger overhead bins, larger inflight entertainment screens, and even wider seats in Economy and Comfort +. I sat in Seat 3A, First Class for this first-ever passenger flight on a Delta A220 from New York to Dallas. Join me on this flight so you can decide for yourself whether the Delta A220 is as good as the airline claims it is!

Jeb, I love your videos. I have a question for you. Im gearing up to book round trip flights from BWI to Las Vegas with layovers in ATL and Detroit. The layovers are 40 minutes and 30 minutes. My question to you is when flying on domestic flights and having short layovers, will my Delta flights be in the same terminal?

Methinks that using your phone mic (only) for your vlogs takes away from the viewing experience. The nature of these mics is to be more accurate for close-up speaking - a la using the phone as a phone - and picks up a LOT of extraneous surrounding sounds when used a a camera mic. For What It's Worth.

My wife and I booked the original inaugural A220 from LGA-DFW. There was an FAA delay in completing the certification for this aircraft type so we missed what appears to have been a great experience. I at least feel like I was on the inaugural DL A220 from your video. Great job, Jeb!

Let Europe buy the Airbus 220 but in the USA buy American made Boeing. The Boeing 737 Max 8 is safe and puts Americans to work. I wonder how Delta and the other American airlines would like it if Americans flew within the USA on airlines from other countries?

I just flew on the A220 July 25th to Dallas from LaGuardia. Very nice flight. I had economy seats row 22 and they were the most comfortable seats I ever had on a single aisle aircraft. Had the A220 on the return flight, row20. My second positive experience with Delta.

To everyone who does not like the name A220. this plane would have been dead if it was not for Airbus. The americans would have killed it. So no matter the name Bombardier lives on and jobs are secured thanks to Airbus. amazing plane thanks Canada

I flew on a A220 last week from MSP to DFW, and I was extremely impressed at how roomy it was for a smaller aircraft (Even in cattle class. I was expecting to be smushed in there like the CRJ, but was pleasantly surprised. Definitely a win in my book.

Great Review Jeb. As always. Quick question. I am abit confused about the reference of the A220 and CRJ series, reason being the bombardier site is still up with CRJs. Are the CRJs being sold as they were or are they defunct as we speak.

very nice - we get those making the final turn over our place coming into Seatac when landing southbound up here - those new Pratt & Whitney's have that super distinctive howl. Can't wait for my first flight in one of those.

It's a Canadian/American/ European marriage. Canadian engineering at it's best.
Delta did the right decision by purchasing so many I believe it will serve them well for many many years to come.
Be safe wake the mask

Inaugural flights are great!
I know you are a fan of the Bombardier C Series or Airbus A220. I cant wait to try Deltas example in October from Detroit to and from New York LaGuardia! (DTW-LGA)
Fingers crossed!

I personally LOVE the A220. However, I haven't flown on one yet.
It seems like a nice plane, and I hope it toes well in the aviation market. Maybe British Airways could use A220s for London City to JFK.

another Canadian success story even though Boeing and the US Gov't did everything they could to stop the A220. Thanks to Airbus now Bombardier will sell even more planes than originally planned.

Im an employee, yet I dont get invited on these flights. I guess Im not an influencer like you are. If you want to DM me and get my address, you can send me that pin and Ill wear it on my uniform.
reply

Does anyone know if economy gets to do all of the inaugural things and get the pins or whatnot? Im split between an inaugural flight or a biz flight coz inaugural ones are more expensive
reply

So does Jeb and others really hate the 717 compared to this? Or is it just that it's a new arrival on the scene? Have you flown in the MRJ, with it's even more room and more quietness?
reply

Damn southwest better buy one of these. I would LOVE to fly this. And yes im aware that southwest flys only 737s but I think the cs100 is a better choice for some of the smaller routes.

I was lucky enough to fly on a Delta A220 2 years ago flying from SLC-SJC, it was an amazing flight. The A220 is such a pretty bird and I hope to ride it again one day
reply

Hi Jeb! I love your videos. Im flying the A220 in Jult and was wondering your thoughts on the leg room in first class front row compared to a seat in the rows behind? Thanks!
reply

It's funny how Delta never had a single Airbus in its fleet until it acquired Northwest Airlines. Now Delta is all in for Airbus as the Boeing jets get fazed out.
reply

This plane was not bought by Delta because Airbus basically gave this plane. The selling price was 40% below the manufacturing cost. It was a shameful transaction.
reply

why are you buying Chobnani yogurt Delta? Don't you know of the anti-US crap Chobani does with its profits? I mean there are lots of alternatives available.

How many brands of watches do you own, and how many tens of thousands of dollars have you spent on them! I've seen Rolex, Breitling and Omega thus far.
reply

You know I would have spent all my money on these flights but Im 12 and have parents that expect me to make reasonable financial decisions. I THINK NOT
reply

Call it what it is: Bombardia CS100. Fabulous aircraft and shows up the B737 for what it is, once innovative but now old, tired and past it.
reply

I especially love seeing all your amazing watches! Great taste and that Grand Seiko I saw in one of your videos recently was stunning.
reply

The A220-100 is the perfect replacement for deltas older A319-100s and B717-200s and those first class seats look amazing!
reply

Suck on that Boeing. You failed to stop this with your cheap tactics. I just bet delta are REAL glad they never ordered the MAX.
reply

I almost got on a Inaugural flight of a new route from DFW to DUB when I got on it was the 2nd day of the new route. So close.
reply

I like this A220 aircraft. However I prefer Air Canada NEW A220 over Delta Airlines. Air Canada cabin more polished.
