Africa's FIRST Airbus A220! Air Tanzania Business Class bwc1976: So great to see you able to fly without a mask again! I hope the U. S. will follow Tanzania's lead before much longer. Also I'm glad Bombardier has come up with this modern follow-up to the long line of McDonnell-Douglas and Fokker jets that seat 3-2 in economy (which is probably the closest I'll ever get to experiencing the glorious 2-3-2 of the 767 again. I refuse to call it an Airbus, they simply bought the rights to it from Bombardier, but either way it looks like a great plane that I would be perfectly comfortable in for up to 3 or 4 hours. Maybe more if I knew for sure I could get the 2-side or an aisle on the 3-side, but I'd probably still prefer the Embraer 170/190 where both sides are 2-sides. Also I love how they played the Jurassic Park theme during boarding!

1: 36 When the lady said Mzunguke Noel probably thought she said something about a white man
Mzungu means a white person in Swahili
Mzunguke means Go around
Edit: And if you are curious; yes the words are related. Early white explorers and missionaries used to go around seemingly aimlessly hence the natives named them Mzungu which loosely translates to someone who goes around.

Hello Noel! Always good to see the Air Tanzania product being reviewed. The seats in this business class look pretty comfy and I wouldn't mind a 5 hour flight in them. The cabin seems fairly quiet but looks a bit snug, and I'm not too crazy about the overhead screens. Like you, I prefer the Dreamer or some other Jumbo for long flights with the infotainment right in front of me.

The rock that you pointed out in the lake, is natural. All around the lake, on the shores, there are rocks like that, perched like they're ready to fall. especially in the hills surrounding the lake. Different mineral types, worn away by water at different rates. Don't go in the water. lots of hungry crocs. lol

Nice to see an ex-Easaf DC3 even if derelict. Flew Nairobi to Dar via Mombasa in 1962 when my late father was instructor with airline. A/C was VP-KLA, a DC3. Return by Canadair C4m Argonaut which gave up at Mombasa (then called Port Reitz airport) and is possibly still there. Was that MV Victoria alongside at Mwanza?

I believe they use gate 5 as the rest of the gates are mainly used as a parking stand for the idle aircraft. The 787 used to do the mwanza run initially before they started doing the Mumbai run. And speaking of Mumbai, Air Tanzania did operate a few flights on the 220 as a last minute sub for the 787

Yes Im just watching this now but what the heck? During a walk thru the terminal there is an overhead display of animals presumably found in the region, and well, I didnt know they had kangaroos in Africa? I had to watch it again in case my eyes were deceiving me but no, there it is.

Seems check in counter staff and the serving cabin crew onboard shying as doing duties. may be they are being filmed makes them shy. although check in counter looks snobbish but the body language showing she is shy. the serving crew tries to avoid eye contact and goes off quickly.

C'mon, Noel. You're a Northerner, like me. You know what a Muffin is, and that ain't a Muffin. It's a Bun. Another masterpiece. I really want to try the A220. Maybe in a couple of years when it's safe to travel. But I agree with you, no more than two hours in a narrow body.

I've been binging all the earlier videos that I missed and loving them all. I know the videos are mainly about the flight but I do also like the ones where we see some of the destinations too. Would love to see more! :)

Love them or hate them, I would personally always choose an Airbus over Boeinig aircraft. I guess its a bit like iPhone or Android, both sides will argue they are right but in the end, you pick your own poison.

It's similar to the world gate in Ronald Reagan Washington Airport in the US. All American Airlines Flight in that one gate and it's even more hectic. they board like a million flight at a time. just crazy

I noticed the employees who check you in are the ones who check you at the gate so. maybe you can use that to know when its time for your flight if you can recognize them
