At this festival, each Bullfight has 6 fights. There are 3 Bullfighters that alternate, each with a crew of assistants. Each fight is to be completed in 15 minutes or less. 'The bullfighter couldn't kill the bull, it took him 12 stabs'? At this level it is very common for the bull to be put down on the first thrust of the Matador's saber. But this thrust of the saber is the last attack on the bull. The are 2 spikes (not seen, done in the corral, 2 or 3 spears (horsemen, 6 darts (footmen, 1 thrust of the saber (Matador, 2 daggers (footman) that severe the spinal cord (usually the bull is dead and the daggers are to be sure that the bull suffers no more. However, the vid showing the bull being finished still sitting upright near the edge of the arena by the Matador (not the assistant) indicates that the fight did not go well. I think you guys didn't research bullfighting before showing up, saw a bad fight and then left without seeing the other 5. That being said, this was a pretty good video for giving me a feel for what this festival is like. The only thing that I read about that you did not cover is that there is a classic carnival with rides & games of skill & luck.

I proclaim myself to be a tolerant and open-minded human being. That took me to assist this year (2017) to see San Fermin by myself. As a Spaniard who absolutely hates bullfighting, and who advocates for its abolition. I got something to say. I actually just went there to experience the different cultural atmosphere of the party. Going out for 7 nights straight was a blastAfterward, I received several text messages from very close friends asking me not to go ever again to the San Fermin festival, as I would be supporting (economically, perhaps) the idea of bullfighting itself. I was judged as a close-minded person because of attending this. I feel that being open-minded consists in challenging your own beliefs and values daily by being exposed to these cultural activities that take you way out of your comfort zone. No, I do not agree with bullfighting and I hope it is abolished as soon as possible. But sometimes you gotta do things you don't 100% agree with in order to gain knowledge, to gain experience and. if you can have some fun along the way (partying and drinking booze in my case, why not?

Well even in Spain bullfighting is controversial. Most Spaniards dont like bullfighting, and probably don't assotiate with this tradition as been known worldwide as A Spanish tradition. Is not something we would say as beeing culturally Spanish. So you can dislike it and dont need to watch it to feel like understanding spanish traditions. Im spanish and I hate it and have never seen one. And I think none of the people I know have ever been. Did you know is traditional in France and Portugal as well?

So, I'm from Spain and I've never supported bullfighting. I believe it is a medieval practice that should be banned. I hate how bulls are literally killed and how they bleed out until they eventually die. I've never been to a bull ring, never seen any bullfighting shit and I never will Apart from that, I love our traditions and our history (not only fiesta and sevillanas) Good video guys Thanks for showing a little bit of our culture Feel free to come back to Spain again

I've never been in a bullfighting, and I wont be. I dont like it. But for the ones saying: end this and leave the bulls alone. well, there is a catch. Those bulls are breed for the only purpuse of bullfightings, nothing more. Unless every one of you that want this to end adopt one. this type of bulls will be extint. They are to expensive to maintain and they cant be in the wild. So. by ending their suffering, you are ending their species.

Hey guys great video Stumbled on it in my hyping myself up for my 4th San Fermin I'm not a massive fan of the bull fights but i am not against them as they are (usually) cleaner kills than cattle killed for meat and have lived in a lot better conditions up until their final days. I've personally never run but a lot of my friends including girls have and they all say the most dangerous part is not the bulls but the uneducated tourists.

I thought it was a great video. I ran with my brother in 2005 and experienced the same feelings you did. You did not mention that once the run was over and you were in the ring did they let the baby bulls out among the crowd in the ring. We also went to the bull fight the day we ran. We sat up in the top tier and it was a huge drunken food fight, best part of the trip. Best way to describe the festival is Mardi Gras with Bulls

If it took 12 stabs to kill the bull, that was a shitty bullfighter. Bullfighting is beautiful and it really is art if the bullfighter is a good one and kills the bull in the first try. Also is not only killing the bull, there is a lot of stuff and traditions behind it, the bullfight is only the surface of it. Nice video And thanks for respecting our traditions

I am planning on attending this year, I really want to run but my parents don't want me to I'll be with my mom. I heard there's a way you can start in front far from the bulls and run in the ring before they get there and see them from the ring at the end? Although this kind of seems pointless. What do you think? Is there a good starting place that's a bit safer?
