10 Alligators In A Day (plus More Toe Problems) Dale: Close to mating time, gators are going to be more visible and active. Mostly Harmless was a great example of never judging someone by their cover. So many said he did not look like an experienced hiker and was not equipped for it but look how far he went. Trail angels are awesome.

Great video! This one hit home as i grew up spending many many days in the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. It's Awe-mazing how many Gators have flourished in 20 yrs. I've harvested several. the largest one being 12' near one of those Levees as it was becoming a 'nuisance' for the Seminole Indian kids that hung out nearby on the weekends. My Grandfather and i waded for years flyfishing that lake. im not sure i'd do that again like i did. I did step on one wading one morning in 4' of water. he about knocked me over with his tail and i had to go back to the Airboat to change my shorts =) They won't bother you though. Just DON'T get near their nest. There Will be an issue then and Momma will let you know it, hah. Good luck with the bugs. Btw, i've caught 100 Gators, have No fear of snakes, but when you showed that pix of the Spider i had to put on SpongeBob for 5 min. im Freaky scared of spiders. Facts. Thanks again, and 'keep your shoes lose' =)

CHRONIC INGROWN TOENAIL PRO-TIP: My boyfriend has size 14 feet and wide toenails. We are avid fans of the outdoors, so one year he had to have pieces of his toenails removed on 4 separate occasions. On the last occasion, the pediatrist said that he could chemically burn the part of his nail bed where the bothersome piece of toenail kept growing back to prevent it from happening again. I am happy to report that his toes have not had a flair up in 2 years. 10/10 recommend having this done if it flairs up again. Happy hiking!

Dixie, please get yourself some 100% pure DEET for the mosquitoes. It is the only thing that works I've found. The gators and bugs remind me of the swamps of Louisiana I grew up in. I spent so much time walking on the levees and next to canals. This video makes me think of my childhood playing outside. My world was more scary at home with my violent alcoholic father. I think I have been in every bar in New Orleans having to drag his worthless butt home. The drinking killed him young and left my poor mom a widow.

I loved the video! Thank you: ) Sorry for your toenail: / Can't imagine how annoying/painful it has to be having it cut out and then walk on it too. Loved all the shots of animals, my least favourite spiders and snakes= every time there was a close up, especially one on a massive spider, I squealed! It is amazing you can sleep through the night with no problems, surrounded by all of the gators and the rest: )

I stopped getting ingrown toenails when i stopped cutting my nails back beyond the skin. (Also, controversial if it works; I did notch a V in the center of my nail. It is said to encourage the nail the stay in line. rather than growing out and into the skin) My teenage years were riddled with ingrowns and i am convinced they stopped when i quit trimming them so short.

Not only am I a fellow FL native, but I've had ingrown toenail surgery twice (both toes.
I had flash backs when you were in the chair. I hope you're doing well.

Hey Homemade Wanderlust. you probably know this already, but just in case. The track at 6: 05 was a mountain lion. Pretty cool find! W shaped paw pad, no marks from claws. I'm on the west coast and see them frequently. Great video! I really like the stars silhouetted by palmettos.

It is interesting to see so many gators. Glad you did not encounter them in the swamps. What was that diamond-spotted snake? Good that you had some dry trail to walk on after having your toes worked on. Thank you for all of the the wildlife photos -- esp. the closeups. Take care.
