I just finished up a weeklong trip in the Smokies, and it killed me to hear you stayed at Davenport. We originally planned to stay there a night but Apple Maps took us down this awful mountain road where a local blocked us from passing through and threatened to pull a gun on us if we tried to go down his road (pine hill way. Ended up sleeping in our cars that night because it started raining and it was too late and cold to night-hike. Great trip anyways. Your videos helped me prepare and have the lightest pack in my group so thank you for all of the great information.

Im on update number 8 of your videos and I'm watching them all the way through. Ive already watched most of your gear videos and tips for the trail. Im thru hiking this may, 2017 with one of my buddies. We're graduating college and heading out. Ive loved your videos. They're a great way to feel the joy of the trail while I'm still stuck in school waiting to hike it myself. thanks for sharing your experiences. -

I live near here and my sister, Maria, runs Standing Bear Hostel. I do trail maintenance on the A. T. near here every week. I remember the first time I noticed that log laying in the middle of that stream; probably none like it throughout the entire A. T.

Remember it Gets really cold in Northern Maine in September and snowing by October on Katadin. Knowing how rough Eastern Vermont, New Hampshire and the first 80 miles of Maine (Mahoosic Notch. She might want to check her progress along the trail.

Looks like a fun group. it's been one year since I took my two teenage sons to VA/TN for a 60 mile section which ended in Damascus. Best of luck to you all. Be safe out there. wish I were hiking instead of slaving at this work desk! Cheers!

Beat Dixie never imagined that in two years she would do a 62 mile day (24 hr) on the PCT. In fact, I'm willing to bet that if I had told her this at this point in time that she would have blown me off as some crazy old lady. Did happen.

Was all the steaks and other food free? There is another vlogger on here who did the whole trail in 100 days avg. 22mi. per day but I like your films better.
