Devi's Backbone is good stuff. A couple good family style restaurants that are not right off the trail but not outside of reason are Dillard House in Dillard GA. and Daniel Boone Inn in Boone NC. I was just on a section hike and stayed at Bears Den last week for the first time. Thirty bucks goes a a long way there. Thanks for sharing!

Totally unrelated to this video, which is great, lol! But every time I click on your link, your first video from the approach trail comes up. You were definitely a different person then. Still confident, but a nervice Nellie, haha! Can't wait till you start the P C T. Yours will be the first complete hike from that trail that I watch!

Hey Dixie, I've just recently gotten in to backpacking and have been binge watching your videos. I gotta say I appreciate the Los jalapenos shout out as I live 3 blocks away from the restaurant lol. Great food, beer and margaritas. Your videos have inspired me and I'm planning on an at thru hike in 2020.

20 Feb. '18 can't get here fast enough. When I was peak bagging in Rangley Me. I hit up the Red Onion a few times. Whistle Stop in VT. was good too. I got the Hungry Hiker. They closed at the end of this past summer. Was hoping to hit it again in '18. Niloc

Dixie could you do a video on what you thought were the top ten or top five most dangerous/difficult/mentally-trying miles of the AT? I am planning a thru hike for 2018! I love your videos. You have really inspired me to get out there and go for it!

The reason all the locals and business owners seem so hospitable to all the hikers should tell us something about hikers. For the most, they are really good people, intelligent, educated, kind, considerate and environmentally friendly.

Your number one Devil's Backbone is an amazing brewery and the breakfast is fantastic. I camped there when I was bicycle touring in 2015 from NYC to Florida and the Vienna Lager is fantastic. Awesome pics.

I just clicked SHOW MORE under the video and love the way you've got all your contact and support information displayed. Also, the comments that you're gathering are well worth reading. Well done, Dixie.

the twelve tribes go to every Grateful Dead show it seems that i have ever been to and they are kinda weird but very nice people. I would certainly let into my home. They just have like a weird vibe.
