I'm heartened to hear you mention you're soaking in the beauty, at the end of episode 1. I've watched about ten of your episodes on the AT and never once did you seem to be reacting to the beauty. Never named a canyon, never described the beauty with any attempt to praise it in words. Never whooped at a grand sweeping view, don't really show us many for that matter. Don't talk about individual peaks or ridgelines or. .. I always hope for a geography lesson in things like this and that's not what you're up to, but at least you once mention the beauty.

Ohhh - The dreaded pit in stomach over forgotten tent parts! In my case, I had neglected to make sure the poles of our three person tent were in the sack before leaving home - They weren't, as we found out at the first campsite - But fortunately that was a canoe trip in N. Minnesota, so there were plenty of overhanging tree limbs above tent sites to suspend the tent roof from, to create a cozy cave. Glad your stakes were really with you!

As a Search and Rescue member in SW New Mexico, I've wanted to like the Guthooks app. but I have to tell you, we've had to go get more through hikers that were using that app than any other one item I can think of. I would seriously consider something else. It's extremely inaccurate at its base. Love the idea of the hiker's updates, but not worth it from a safety standpoint.

I am going to do a section hike of the cdt from grant to Cuba, first backpacking trip. How comfortable were you with the Sawyer water filter? Were you worried about viruses? I have a Sawyer and MSR Guardian trying to decide which one to carry. Any suggestions?

Don't feel too bad, my last backpacking trip, I hiked in, set up camp and found out that I forgot food. Made for a miserable night/ morning and had a long drive back afterwards. Going back to complete this weekend.

When you say that you're going for a walk you're serious. Wow. Let's go to Canada. LOL. I always wanted to do stuff like this but have never been able because of my feet. You're really amazing. Keep it up.

I recently moved to Idaho Falls, just about 45 miles south of where the CDT crosses hwy15 just before entering Montana. There isn't much out there, but is there some way to support hikers at that point?

Hi Dixie, I really enjoyed your premiere before I had to retire for the night, But! I still watch your individual videos because of more content and the music is much better. Just my 2 cents. Lol: )

I'm just curious on how somebody does a through hike, or at least a month long hike - financially. Taking time off of work and all that comes with that.
