The Gila is an amazing place. You are going to see a little bit of everything in New Mexico. After you finish the CDT I hope that you will come back and Explore the Pecos Wilderness which is also incredibly beautiful.

I've been having so many questions about the cdt experience; its been my life goal since fifth grade. rather than scrolling through petty faqs and handbooks, this series has given me so much understanding and inspiration about the experience. thank you!

I cannot wait to get out and start Hiking! About 2-3 weeks my 15 year old Son and I will be hiking the Pinhoti trail here in Alabama. I am curious Dixie when you cross rivers so often do you keep going with wet socks and shoes or what do you do?

Hey! Make sure you check out hte HUGE cliff dwelling (second biggest in the world I think) In MESA VERDE, it might be close or where you're going on the CDT. Also, beautiful area! Southwest Colorado! Good luck and thanks for the inspiring videos!

Yo Dixie! How do you not get blisters by submerging your feet in the water at every river crossing? I crossed one river with my shoes on here on the PCT and I got a hot spot right away. Do you let them dry out shortly after?

You hiked right past the cabin my friend owns where we elk hunt out of each year. Love this area so much and happy you enjoyed it! I can't wait to hike it myself. AT first though, 2019 SOBO!
