My friend told me about a hitch where a guy told him that he was going to kill him. So they stop at a gas station my friend gets out goes into the store and then comes back and gets in the car. This totally threw the driver for a loop. So while they were driving he starts talking about how he's going to kill him again. My friend never reacted and played it cool the entire time. he said the guy looked pretty disappointed that he wasn't scared when he finally dropped him off. I was scared just hearing the story.

Hitchhiking tips from vast experience. 1. Wear white or bright colored clothing. 2. Stand! (it shows ambition) 3. Be in a spot where the driver can pull off easily. 4. Talk with the driver before getting in, giving you the option to decline the ride. 5. Be grateful. 98-99% of rides were with the kindest, most generous people I've ever met. The other 1-2% had problems.

Uh, up until the Brokeback Mountain part I was defending the guy. Yeah, little creepy, no bueno. Out of curiosity, do you carry a weapon when you hike? I was recently gifted a Judge handgun to take with me on my hikes, definitely feel safer.
Curious on what your perspective is on handguns in the wilderness.
Thank ya ma'am.

I would have literally just walked off mid sentence. Back in the day I would have stayed and picked up some coke. But yeah literally no time whatsoever for that anymore I would just say this is weird man I'd rather walk to be fair. Bye.

Kern County has a lot of sketchy drifters. ALWAYS use your wits! And remember if something is too good to be true, it probably is. You were smart to drop a pin, inform a relative, and begin recording the interaction

This guy (Tom) could have very well been a serial killer. Cruelty to animals is the first sign and past violent incidents/ criminal history is not something in his favor either.

She gives good information but she just talks so much, like there's so many extra words and personal opinions on top of everything that it's kinda hard to keep listening to.
